Really? This saddens me more then the possibility of being screwed over by these rip off merchants. You, Jedifyfe, TheNickFox and airair made massive contributions to the DIY MAG thing (sorry words escape me right now). I am as pissed about this deal as you. Don't just give up dude!
Today I bought a few sheets of 12mm EVA to make some scratch build soles.
I also have a sheet of what I had considered written off clear elastomer (pour 3) which did not work out as good as I had hoped. The molded surface is perfect, it is the back that is messed up. I am glad I didn't just throw it out because looking at it again, I think if I pack the bubbles and cavities with clear silicone, I may be able to save and even use this sheet.
I am also going to test this as an adhesive. If it works, I'll be able to celebrate that I have found a cheaper alternative to Shoe Goo. If it fails, then who cares, the clear rubber had been written off anyway

Walk away for a bit. Sometimes it's the best solution. You shouldn't do any project if you aren't passionate about it...just put all of your materials and reference together in one place, label it, and that way if and when you find a renewed love of the project, you can always pick it back up.
This hobby turns us all into addicts, suffering through both the highs and lows. Getting sober can sometimes give us the best perspective.
At the end of the day, they're just shoes. Not worth too much of your stress in the grand scheme of things. And if you've already waited 23 years for these shoes, maybe in another 3 Nike could surprise us all.

Pickgoodshoes would reply to me immediately every time I emailed them for the past month. Finally when I said I wouldn't accept the price increase and asked for a refund, he told me to file a PayPal claim. That's a weird way to get a refund... Anyway, I was on day 44 so I was still able to file. Now for two days, I've been emailing and asking them to take care of the claim without any replies back.
Ok. So new plan. I'm going with aliexpress. I have a seller that will charge $213/pair for an order of 5 or more. For one pair it's $250. It takes one day to process payment and ten days to ship, so we're looking at two weeks to have them.
Stepping back a bit, these shoes are easily worth this. Would I have liked to have gotten them for $99? Heck yeah, but life moves on.
Also, aliexpress uses an escrow system that prevents the seller from getting your money until the buyer has confirmed satisfactory delivery of the goods.
Soooo... are there 4 folks that have either cancelled a previous order or not ordered yet that would like to speak up for one of the 4 extra pairs for $213 + actual shipping costs to forward them to you? I would not take any payment until I have them in hand and ready to forward them on. I would just want to know that I won't be stuck with the 4 other pairs. Also, I've received assurances that they will test each shoe to make sure there are no dead LEDs.
I'll wait until tomorrow night to order. If 4 folks haven't spoken up by then I'll just order 1 pair for myself for $250.

Heads up about ali express. I ordered something from then last month and they canceled my order 24 hours later because they said they could not verify my identity. They wanted me to jump through hoops to verify my identity and even asked for my bank statement. In the end it was not worth it and I waited weeks to get my money back.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll do some research on that to see how often it happens and what triggers it.
