NIEN NUNB - headsculpt progress pics

a blast from the past, i dug this out of the cupboard tonight, almost broke my arms trying to lift it.
i added texture to the face which im quite happy with. i would really like to get this finished up as its been a while - 2006!

i know im slow but this is taking the ****.

i have other projects i want to sculpt but don't know weather i should finish this up or not?
its the biggest piece i've done so far,
i have a few days off during new year so maybe i'll get things moving or .........maybe not

the pen is there for size reference.

This is looking great. I'd LOVE to see a Ree Yees sculpted. Either that or a really nice Hammerhead.

lOOKS NICE SO FAR, I've always liked the way the used WWII flight helmets in ROTJ...

I'd pick the Hammerhead first , but a good weequay,or Nikkto would be cool...

It's looking good, but I think his face is a too long. He's got more of a round face instead of an oval shape. Maybe widen out his eyes and cheeks.

I'm I the only one that thinks ol Nien looked like Howard Cosell?

yes , now looking at it i have to agree, i have been playing around with the images on photoshop. i'll amend it when im off work.

as far as the eye distance is concerned, i think they are about right as the plastic domes are place over the eyes of a human lifecast underneath.

i'll post pics of the revised sculpt shortly

Looks great Chris. There was no question who it was when I saw your work.
Since you asked how you were doing, I searched for some reference pics (all of which I'm sure you already have), so we could offer opinions. Since I can't tell the overall scale of the head, I can't judge the size. He kind of looks like a slightly younger, slightly slimmer Nien Numb? Like a 20 yr old vs a 50 yr old. Maybe it should be wider and shorter, if you're going for extreme accuracy. I guarantee though anyone would recognize him as is.

but finding that piece could be more than tricky...
