Newbie Prop Collections? All members new & established welcome to post!!

Thanks... Though that brick looks distinctly difered than the bricks in Brad's and THX's collections. Mainly the weathering on the brick...

I do believe that would be my work,I'm a new member but have dealt with alot of members.I know Brad's is and I'm pretty sure THX's is mine as well.
The brick is made out of foam and also has a opening in the backside to insert the glasses, just like the original. Todd

Yes mine is Todds, and I have to say it is truly amazing work. It really loooks like a real brcik. Even up close and then you touch it and it's a dense foam rubber with cut out back ,like in the movie. I love it!! Thanks Todd!

Re: Newbie Prop Collections?

I have received a few PM's from new members here. It seems that it takes some time before you can post on a thread. So here is my collection to start us off...

IMG_6386.jpg

Thanks for posting this photo, it just reminded me that I have #1 and #2 of those SW comics in a box that need to be framed and displayed. :)

@snowshoe-archangel: May you have a plan how do you built the PKE meter, or what shoe polisher you used? Seems an interesting project for me... Thanks...

Well heres most of my collection. Still have a few things I cant get to take pics of yet and they are just thrown around and not finished (i will finish boba eventually) Nothing compared to some great collections on this thread tho.

Here's my collection;

First up, an overall shot of the larger group

collection1.jpg

Now to break it up into smaller groups;

MR mini sabers (PT only), Indy: ROTLA and TOD

collection2.jpg

Boba ESB blaster (resin and metal), jawa blaster made from real enfield and grenade cup.

collection3.jpg

Luke Binoviewer - made from real parts (except for lenses, which are gw2tulsa's resin copies) and ANH sabers. Luke is built on a real graflex, Obi and vader are Park's replicas.

collection4.jpg

Indy TLC and Jurassic Park cryocan and raptor claws

collection5.jpg

BR blaster (PKD II), E-11 built on decomissioned sterling with resin scope and counter, cylinders are from an RPF run. SideShow exclusive HellBoy II Samaritan.

collection6.jpg

Luke and vader ESB and ROTJ. Luke ESB is a real graflex, with replica second button, vader is a replica. Rotj Luke was a muli-part kit from a member and the vader is one of Obi1Kenny's kits. Jawa welder is a real butane torch, droid caller is a replica kit, the restraining bolt is a machined piece, the hengstler counter is the real deal (I'm waiting on a sleeve, to mount it to the sterling) and the lonely obi emitter is from Russ' latest run.

collection7.jpg

MiM resin pulserifle kit with upgraded metal shoulder stock and barrel vent. Sling is from a run on the Aliens Legacy board. AA Enterprise and TOS phasers.

collection8.jpg

Sideshow Toys Cpl. Hicks. MR ALIENS motion Tracker and Panasonic Ranger 505, the base of the original ALIEN motion tracker

collection9.jpg

Now from the other prop collection (I have them in 2 different room due to space limitations)

1:1 scale unas from SG-1 (he's on vacation, hence the hat), sculpted by a member, painted by me

collection10.jpg

Simpsons Indy and Star Wars, a run by a member a long time ago. Marmit 12" figures

collection11.jpg

LOST Mary statues (with fake heroin) and Kate's wanted poster, Sideshow deluxe Indy and my truly hovering training remote

collection12.jpg

National Treasure glasses (built entirely by me, including making custom frames) and Meerschaum pipe from the RPF run. Hand-painted zippo from X-Men 2 and Wolverine's dogtags. Wolvie's claws (movie accurate) from an old RPF member. Airsoft Glock 17. Hand-sculpted bug's claw from StarShip Troopers and the props from The Lost Room (clock is real, key, fob and pen are from an RPF run)

collection13.jpg

HEROES 9th Wonders comics are from an RPF run, the blaster is built on a real MGC with parts from blast-tech (yodas-house at the time). Plaque is a custom I built to get the blaster off the floor :lol

collection14.jpg

LOTR map of Middle Earth, drawn by the one and only, Adam Savage (of MythBusters fame), graciously printed by Hyden and weathered and framed by me. The big sword is a knockoff, Frodo's is the MR light-up version, the ring hanging from it is the cheap version. The finger of Sauron on top of the map is a custom sculpt from one of our members.

collection15.jpg

Indy's map from ROTLA, designed by one of our members, weathered and framed by me.

collection16.jpg

And that is everything.

Yes, you're quite right -- the bricks do look quite different. I should have written that tripoli did "a set" of bricks and glasses, but not necessarily the set seen in the collections you mentioned.

I do believe that would be my work,I'm a new member but have dealt with alot of members.I know Brad's is and I'm pretty sure THX's is mine as well.

Sorry to have mistakenly identified these as tripoli's, Todd. I don't collect the National Treasure items myself, so hadn't studied tripoli's JY thread too closely; I just remembered it when PHArchivist wondered where the brick-and-glasses sets were coming from. My apologies.

Your set looks amazing! :love

Gigatron - That robot at the bottom left hand corner, is that the robot Lisa made for the Science far?
Yep, that's Linguo the Grammar Robot made by Lisa in the 12th season episode "Trilogy of Error".

Wow, good job on Linguo. I was gonna say "Awesom-o" but remembered that was Cartman.

That episode actually made my laugh out loud when Homer picks him and and before he dies, he corrects Homer's grammar.

aww man, I feel so weak after seeing all these awesome collections, some of them are downright creepy :D

Well, I'm a newbie and just finished by first 2 props:

Akator map, found the drawing itself on Club Obi-Wan I think, just printed it out and soaked it in some unhealthy coffee mixture.

This one turned out really good for a first attempt. I found the largest paper I could (16.5" * 23.4") and applied the same coffee mixture a couple of times. asavage made the map itself, which I printed out on 4 A4 papers and used carbon paper to draw it onto the large A2 paper.
