New Wish List Prop - The ULTIMATE DS9 Phaser Rifle

I have a new wish list prop. I love my TNG rifle, but if anyone is up to the challenge or a run, I want the ultimate DS9 rifle. Im talking about the TNG/DS9 style with all the bells and whistles as seen in the episode "The Siege of AR-558." If anyone can get good screen caps that would be a great start. Its gotta have the military clips and carrying strap, removable phaser head front, scope and power pack to hold on there magnetically, the fold down setting control panel inside the rear handle, and I might even go for the stupid little decal behind the scope. I know they aren't out there, but should be fairly easy to do. There are plenty of these rifles out there and lots of talented builders on the forums, so if people are interested please speak up and maybe someone will come through for us.

I am convinced he has one of those thinking Machine laptops, I'm talking about the 686 prototypes, with the artificial intelligence RISC chip attached to a warehouse full of servers and harddrives to store all his trek photos :lol

I love this rifle, and even though it is very 'TNG' (boxy, chunky), I still think it looks better than the FC-Nemesis rifles, lovely.

I agree, that blind spot = missing out on something great. Ill start by saying I do love TOS. Its the series that started it all. It can be really corney, but its fun and special. TNG is my favorite because thats the series I grew up on...and there are some great episodes, but DS9 really had the most outstanding eps. Im just finishing up rewatching all 7 seasons of DS9 and really enjoyed it. I never loved Voy, but id like to give it another go. Now enterprise...there is my blind spot...and im okay with it.

Let's see if we can get this thread fired up again... This phaser's been on my wish list for years, but I've finally got one on the way! It's a resin kit in several pieces, looks perfect to make into a field strippable (is that even a word?) rifle...

I plan to build up & paint the individual pieces, then use acrylic or metal rods and strong magnets to hold everything together. When finished, thought it might be cool to display it disassembled in some kind of a plastic case. Screen shots of the exposed phaser parts seem scarce, so I'll likely go screen accurate where I can, and use a bit of artistic license for the rest.

That's the plan at least. First I need to get the kit... then I need to find the time. Between my 18 month old daughter, my 2 week old son, and my compulsive need to work on many projects all at once I expect this to be a very long build... lol

i love the tng/ds9 phaser. the decal on the back was also flipped in the opistie direction in a few episodes. "To the death" Most notably. I love the detachable light box. great prop.
