New to RPF - Catwoman costume project

Woah my thread got pushed back pretty far. Updates:: Still working on exercising to slim and tone down. I need still::gloves,goggles,whip.
The woman who owns the company of where I am eventually ordering my costume from is messing around with catsuit ideas and is actually making hooded catsuits that I might be able to talk her into making mine have ears.

I've always been curious how people (especially the guys who have gals in revealing costumes) deal with it. I mean on some level deep down you have to want to pulverize the dudes that are gawking at your honey! :love

for me, he doesn't have to worry. because he knows i can hold my own. :angel

Well, speaking from personal experience... I am 53 and my fiance' is 21, and a total babe. She LOVES wearing sexy costumes to conventions, and gets a lot of attention, picture requests, etc. I just smile and think, "Hey guys, look all you want, but I get to take her home!"

:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup correct.

cool costume. can't wiat to see it done. I've done the counterpart - Black Cat but have no pics yet. :)

So hold your own...you mean you're like a ninja that can beat the guy up....or you're just really quick with words and can make the guy back off by embarrassing him? Doesn't really matter to me one way or the other. I look at people that wear the sexy stuff and just go...ehh...whatever and go about my business. I didn't even remember that I posted that. Now your bumblebee....that is more "sexy" to me than seeing your stuff hanging out.....but that's just me :D

I'm going to go ahead and bump this thread because I am currently working on a Catwoman costume for my wife based on the Jim Lee Hush version. I will be going as Batman but in the "Panther" suit as it is a suit I have wanted since the movie came out. Here is a shot testing out what I've received so far of my suit... as my wife's suit progresses I'll post hers as well. All finished highjacking your thread now...

How dare you. Just kidding. I would love to see the progress on your wifes costume. Yours is looking pretty awesome so far as well.

So the company that will be making my costume put pictures up of the first catwomen suit (in purple mili-skin material). They added the high colar and the cowel with the cat ears. This costume includes the gloves that are seen in the pictures. Tell me what you think.

Not bad if you take off all the headgear, I suppose. That definitely has to go IMO. The teeth on that zipper look like they'd hurt though! Geez!! :eek:lol

that zipper actually is not included. It has rinestones on it. It comes with a black and silver one. They are allowing me to send a zipper I like to them and they would put that on the costume instead of theirs.

Ok, gotcha. It looks ok but again I think you could probably find one that is closer to the comic look. Have you looked over at LOH?

My honest opinion?
I think it looks....like a costume....in a bad way.....
The mask is terrible IMO, and something about the fabric rubs me the wrong way (maybe it's the model wearing it...she could use a few more pounds in her south pole).
I think a deeper color purple in a synthetic leather would look more realistic and less costume-like.
This is a perfect example of how some things look GREAT on the comic book page in a cartoon, but translates terrible in reality....IMO...
Obi-Wan is right...the League of Heroes forum is going to be the BEST place on the internet for comic book character costumes.

I have to agree, that costume does look pretty awful, it looks something they would have come up with for a superhero TV show during the late 70's or early 80's. I also agree that it would look better in leather (real or synthetic) and in a darker purple, maybe a purple pushing black.

The mask looks really weird to me. While I like an attractive woman in skin tight clothing as much as the next guy, I agree with some of the others in that it looks like something from a low budget superhero TV show from decades past. I'm sure it could be done better, though I assure you that you'd draw attention at a con in this costume. I guess it depends upon how much money, skill, effort etc you can throw at it.
