yeah, you get all kinds of reactions from people at conventions. I think the key is you talk with your significant other before going out so you both know what eachother is comfortable with.
And Sunishine, perhaps the gloves will also be a found item :lol

Ohhhh man...I'm VERY anal retentive when it comes to whips. I hate seeing an awesome costume like an Indy or cat woman with a crappy whip. You can get a replica of the batman returns whip from here http://westernstageprops.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=WSP&Category_Code=WHIPS
There are a bunch of cheaper whips on that site that will fit the bill too. Just don't get a crappy whip.

Ya know...at 06 Dragoncon I saw a costumed Zorro during the parade doing a whip act, and I thought, it was pretty bad a that they would go so far to do that for a costume. So if you could put on a whip display for Catwoman, to me that just ups the coolness factor of your costume.

Baaahhhh...Screw the lessons :lol. Just get out there and learn on your own...I started with an 8 foot whip then went right to a 10'. It's worth the scars :thumbsup

While whip lessons are not a bad idea, I'd be more than happy to describe to you how to make a whip give a wonderful crack without the risk of taking your nose off or an eye out. It isn't hard... AIMING a whip so that you hit what you are aiming at... that is hard and requires a lot of practice. Cracking a whip is easy.

WOW... those high heeled boots looks all manner of unsafe... man, I wouldn't know how to balance on such things, so kinda glad I don't have to. Like line dancers, I always admire people who have an extraordinary good sense of balance and coordination. :thumbsup

yeah I see that. It looks blocked though from the part she is standing on...hard to describe. Its the only boots I came a crossed that resembles catwomans boots
