New Thor Costume concept art!

Well this is just concept art- it tends to change a bit from paper to production. For all we know Marvel made the changes were talking about and he will have scalemale
legs and leather tied off boots. And if he doesn't- we can always make him when we make this costume for ourselves!

the bottom line is this . you will never make all the fanboys happy . i'm 39 years old , and i grew up loving movies , and wishing they would come out with marvel superhero movies , but problem after problem stopped marvel from coming to the big screen , now , i am just happy to get to see my heroes on the big screen , and i dont nitpick about stupid s*** like if he has a helmet or not , hell i was happy when dolph lundgren was the punisher , i stopped complaining , when i said " why are they making iron man , he is a second tear character " , and then it turned out to be awesome . be happy that someone thinks the stupid s*** we love is cool enough to make a multi million dollar gamble on,

and i have a friend who is a die hard thor fan , and he has complained for years , about not having a thor movie , and i promise you he will have something to complain about

Thats pretty vage argument. If you plan to make a carracter you do so by research and to try build on the reffrence you have of that carracter. This is a Viking God. I dont se any logic to not use the viking inspiration, its just simply silly to ignore these facts. I am most satisfied with the Batman suit, Ironman, Captain america, Black Widdow, spiderman, But Thor... Most disepointed if this is what they plan to show as Thor.

As i said before WETA should been on this based on their fantastic armor from LOTR. Those were at least credible "possible" history wise. It gave the armor history, carracter and something vissualy beutiful to be inspired from by the actor and the audience.

I direct my Amen brother @ TMP. This was just not as well researched as the others. The other Avenger costumes we've seen face difference of opinion. This is just a shoddy design job.

Exactly. We shouldn't settle for badly researched design. If they had some kind of concept that this design was inspired by or worked with, then I would completely understand. Trying to match up with Iron Man's modern look isn't a concept, just a bad design move.

I'm not suggesting that the choices made by the movie production teams shouldn't be debated, or that they're perfect (far from it), but at the end of the day, they're making a THOR FEATURE FILM! If the costume isn't exactly as I imagined it, or exactly as shown in the comics, I choose to focus on the fact that no matter what they do, it's better than no film at all.

I don't remember where I read it, I think it was superherohype.com, but they said that we would see a couple of different costumes throughout the course of the movie. I'm not a fan of most concept art, because they almost always change most of the things that I don't like (except the mouth opening in the dark knight cowl, I hate it). So here's hoping they do what they always do, and refine what we have seen of the armor.

so, has it been determined that the avengers movie is going to roughly be the story from "ultimates" 1&2? i would pay big money to see the movie just to see the backlash that they'd get from the ant-man/wasp domestic dispute scene. spraying your mutant girlfriend with bug spray isn't very PC.

i think the costume isn't all that bad. if it's ultimates universe that they're going for he should have the axe hammer instead of the traditional... mixing the traditional stuff with the modern stuff is kind of meh to me. and they should lose the cape if they aren't using the helmet. i also suspect that there will be multiple costumes though.

I agree that the axe-Mjolnir looks great, but it'd be kinda pointless if Thor couldn't cleave someone in 'twain with it (Stan Lee Era Thor-speak right there!), and since I doubt Thor or the Avengers will shoot for an 'R' rating, it's probably better they went with the classic hammer.

Easier to mass-produce and put on toy shelves, too.
