New Sonic Screwdriver version 2.0

Okay, so I finally got tired of it looking like a toy. Did a bit of dremeling, sanding, filling, modifying, painting and viola'. Whadda tink?

The light and sound activate automatically when the neck is fully extended and will stay on until you collapse it back into the body. The trade off is that is ONLY lights up when fully extended. I was happy with that. Here are some pics and a low quality movie file.

Very nice: it's quite a fun little project to do, here's mine:

next to an unmodded Sonic: I cut it down by 10mm so it was closer to the prop size; both the buttons still work the sound and lights; I replaced the lens with a turned acrylic one, and generally un-toyified it! Here's more pics:

I love the mods that you guys have done. I wish you would give some detailed how-to's so I could do some of these mods to my sonic screwdriver.

Nice stuff there. The mod is flawless! :eek You can't tell where it was cut into at all. I may have to go buy ANOTHER one! My 7 year old bugged the life out of me for one, but the first one I got was $33.00 shipped. I later got one out of the package from ebay for about $4.00 for her.
