New sonic screwdriver upclose

Anyone going to ComiCon in San Diego at the end of July will get to see them too along with a few other new replica items that Doctor Who fans will love!

Not to tear this thread too far off topic, but will any of those replicas be for sale at that point, or is ComicCon just the show off before they go on sale?

/off topic

I like the look of this Sonic. Nice marriage of the normal sonic and steampunk without being too much. I'm incredibly burnt out on steampunk, but I'd love to have one of these Sonics.

Indeed we do. We didn't make the original sonic prop though but obviously have had access to it as well as the laser screwdriver and Masters' ring.

Neill, great to hear from you on this thread! I am eagerly awaiting your Sonic Screwdriver and since there will be pics from SDCC I hope some members here snap some pictures! Glad to hear everything got sorted if you have it on display! I hope you got the sound and light to work on it as well.

Your projected release was this summer, as you said on the Outpost Gallifrey forum...how far off was that assessment?

I cannot wait for that prop release from you guys!

It's just a show of prior to them going on sale. It's also a chance for us to announce who Stateside we're teaming up with on this new range.

July would be summer so I think we we're doing pretty good!

Always tough to project dates as invariably there are unforseen problems along the way which can cause delays. No one ever announces a projected date and the deliberately misses it just to irritate customers. You have to be sure a product is just right before putting it on sale and if that means taking a bit longer bringing it to market then so be it.

I'll be at ComiCon myself and will be unveiling a few surprises for WHO fans so get those cameras ready.

Teaming up with someone stateside is a great idea and I know whomever it is will have a great love for the show and its props... ;)

I can only guess about the problems along the way about getting things to do what you want, I mean all of us who love the new series also have a CO Sonic and have tried modding it out...yours having all these features and more, and I for one am okay with waiting for the details to work, but lordy the wait is great! I look forward to seeing the pictures from SDCC and hearing all the great new stuff.

I am already fighting to get the Time Crash Two Pack from there as well since I cannot be there...its too bad my own TARDIS will not get me there :p

So I hope someone here will grab lots of pictures!

Thanks for the update Neill!

Hey guys, yup I am the own that owns one of the CO prototypes, I was lucky enough to acquire, and the pictures posted are of my hand holding it <LOL>. I am looking forward to the MFX replica's, really want to get my hands on those new SS's.

I have seen better pictures of the CO prototype along with CO production taken by owner of it here in the US. The were posted online but i think his name was Karstva. He posted pics of them together on here.

Here is the link to the thread. Look in post #33.

I just wish they would have made the toy based on this one instead.
Now if we can just get someone to make a metal version just like it with lights and sound.

I linked to the pics in that thread here. Since I just linked to them in the original thread, I hope it is ok to do so.

Thanks for the pics and thanks for the news Neill. Hopefully these will be able to make their way to Australia too, without the joy of eBay being involved.
