New Series Cyberman Pepakura files

Wow, that's pretty awesome. The only way it would be cooler is if it was one of the actually menacing Davies Daleks, but still, pep Dalek would be an excellent project.

Never seen Cyberman before... I like the helmet! so many pep projects popping up that I want to try

Thx for the cyberman pep links. Has anyone actually built a full new cyberman from these yet, however? Very interested if so.

Just started looking through them, but it looks like it isn't a complete set yet. At first glance it's still missing the upper leg and feet files, plus whatever extras the unfolder might decide to do.

the new leg piece has been uploaded to the links

remember to flip the file using pepakura designer.

Just joined up today, seeing this thread was the last straw, I just could not help but join after seeing this. I have yet to make any thing and this will be my first attempt.

Hello everybody. I am new here and never heard of Pepakura until yesterday. I wanted to work on a cyberman suit and well, have a year to finish it.

Has anybody used the Pepakura and fiberglassed over it to make a fully wearable suit? If so, any tips I could use? This will be only my 2nd costume attempt ever. (First being my Sycorax in the avatar pic). Is there any guage of the price it would take to make the fully wearable suit?

Thanks in advance! I really do hope to work on one of these and a K-9 if I can figure it all out and have the funds. If I can only do one, the Cyberman comes first, so thats why I am more interested in how it would work for the full suit.

I'm hoping to get started on one of these soon too but I'm working on a K-9 at the moment, so I don't know when that will be. It's definitely on my 'planned' list though.

For tips on fiberglassing, check out one of the numerous Iron Man pep threads, you'll find details. I'm pretty sure there's even a thread explaining how to fiberglass and resin costumes too, somewhere. Price depends, mostly on how much resin and fiberglass you'll need to buy. Plus sandpaper, bondo and a dremel. It'll probably be fairly expensive, I imagine. I'd recommend making the helmet first and seeing how much resin and fiberglass it uses up and try to estimate how much more you'll need for the full suit. If it's too much after the helmet, then at least you have a cool Cybermen helmet to work on and display.

PS: Welcome to The R.P.F. :D

I've been putting together a bunch of Pepakura tutorial videos that should give you a good idea of the process. Pep Vids – Pepakura Prop and Armor Tutorials
I would direct you to youtube for tutorials, but there are just too many videos of the wrong way to do things.
The fiberglass resin is probably the most expensive part because you will use so much of it. $250 in materials is an average budget for a full suit which includes fiberglass resin, fiberglass cloth/mat, body filler, gloves, sand paper, cutting tools, paint, padding, straps, etc. Don't let the price discourage you, as many items can be acquired by scavenging what you already have. You can also only buy enough supplies for each part, since you may be working on one part for a few weeks to get it the way you like. Unless you live in a mild climate, the cold weather slows curing time drastically, so keep that in mind when you decide you want to get started.
There are several different methods to strengthen pepakura, so choose based on your skills. The hot glue method (melt a bunch of glue sticks and pour into the inside of the part and slosh it around) is probably the easiest and least toxic, but provides less than spectacular results.

I forgot to mention that you will need to purchase the full version of Pepakura Designer to save changes to files (like scaling).

great link dung0bettle. thanks
I hope it ok to added your site above my facebook/twitter/ links to help others ?
I know its early m8 but if I don't chat to you before have a great christmas and please keep me posted on that game.

Dung0Beetle, Thank you very much!! I will watch the videos tonight and pray I get a better feel for all this. $250 would be very good since I can spread the cost out over the year.
I have the 110lb card stock on the way and will upgrade (or buy) the full version of pepakura tonight also, so hope to get the learning process started soon. Granted, I am in a cold area, so may dabble with a K-9 as well since I really want to build one of them also and can work on the base and inner workings while waiting for things to cure.
