New RPF Sites Issues - CLOSED (please search for or start a thread for new issues)

I noticed every once in a while when opening a thread the site just sits there then eventually loads but it's not constant. Wasn't sure if had been mentioned before.

The banner to the left of the empty box, though is too big. No annoucement helps a lot, but still, at full screen height, 1920x1200, 2/3 of the page is taken up with header information before I get to the first topic. At that I see 5-6 topics and the rest is header. It's just too big.

The height of the featured area is dictated by the ad (you have blocked) beside it.

We are aware (and VERY frustrated by that). We have a call in to our preferred vB optimization expert and hoping he will respond on Monday to see why this is happening. It isn't our servers as they are not even at half capacity... so we need his guidance on the weird stalls and slowdowns.

Glad to see the page numbers back at the h thread title.

Most things aren't an issue really, will just be an adjustment.

As OB said, easier way to I'd different thread types in the JY, easier to see arrow indicating posting in a thread, and a smaller rotating announcement banner at the top is all I care about.

BTW, I do really like the new RPF header with the alternating film themes at the very top.

Not happening. :(

*Throws a fit and threatens to leave with the other people* :lol

Ok bud, ill let you have your LARGE announcement ad.

BUT!!!! You have to make some pretty good announcements ;)

I don't want to see the same one for weeks and weeks and weeks....... ;)

"ENTER" key does nothing in PMs and replies to threads. Can't space out paragraphs. Quick Reply works, however.

"Manage Attachments" doesn't seem to work correctly when posting a reply to threads. It shows pics I've uploaded previously, and there is no browse function that I can see.

......And THIS time, it wouldn't let me post THIS. It says "This forum requires that you wait 30 seconds between posts. Please try again in 15 seconds." ..........I posted NOTHING 30 seconds before this.

Ah......It double posted. Interesting......

What browser/OS are you using as I am not having any of those issues.

I believe this is part of our site speed/hanging issues. We are hoping our expert can help with that tomorrow.

It's at the bottom center of the window. I can't see it with my No Squint settings, but it pops up when I hover over it.

If things go the way we hope... you won't. This is a key feature for putting new content in front of our members' faces.

I just noticed that the "Go to first new post" button is on the normal thread list, but it doesn't show up in searches. Can this be rectified?

Re: Why did you do that?

We have updated quotes to be more legible. For those who were having difficulties, please take a look and make sure this is where we need to be.

We won't mess with the New Posts list or search lists until we have completely nailed down the look for the threads. Once we are sure on those, we will make New Posts and Search results match. Definitely on the list.
