Ya, saw that. Problem is sphero 2 is $100 +, and there aren't a lot of sphero 1s around. Mine will be a much cheaper, simpler prop. Something for your desk or shelf, as opposed to something to drive around the floor.

Couple issues with that:
1) no traction, the ABS/PLA plastic would just do burnouts, the sphero has some some touch materials that gives it traction
2) weight, it would throw it all out of wack.
Like my Baby Groot, this will be more of a "statue" (with a moving head) than an actual robot. It would ahve been nice to have groot move and dance, but in the end for the price we were aiming for, a static groot worked out well...
And yes, a full sized on would be cool, but I'm sure you'd have to add at least 1 zero to the price I was aiming for...

Very Interested depending on final design. I am really looking to get a 1:1 even if it doesn't move just for display.

Soon, should be this week, just been finishing up my Cosmo Dragoon build, onto this next. Prototype works great, just needs to be flushed out now
