So I met Chloe Bennet at LBCC and she told me that her new costume would come out in a few days, and asked me to make one for next time I saw her. Lo and behold, it was released earlier today. Problem being, I have no idea where to start. Any ideas?

You may want to use the methods that SMP Designs use for his Captain America builds. Make a basic sloper, draw the pattern onto that, then cut it apart and use it as a template.

Hope to see something awesome!

McCalls Yaya Han bodysuit pattern might actually make a decent base for this. The first thing I would do is sew a generic mockup of a body suit in stretch fabric, then go in and hand mark where all of the leather inserts and seaming would go. I know there's a pretty good tactical fabric print on spoonflower if you're looking for that. I also plan on making this and really look forward to seeing your progress!

Seconded, this is probably the best approach. Yaya's pattern is a good starting point and the process Helena described is exactly the way to do it.

If you look really closely, it looks more like pants and a jacket. Having used Yaya's bodysuit pattern before, I don't think that would be a good starting point. It's designed as a leotard with legs you can attach, which would give you odd seams on the pants going the opposite direction of the ones pictured.
