Big heads up is due to the R2 Builders Club who turned me on to this stuff. If you think JB Weld is a miracle worker, your head will explode when you use this stuff.

Here's a link to the product information page.

You'll need to find an online place to buy it, but that's simple enough with google. it comes in a couple of different varieties, so be sure to make sure you get the right one.

it's a product by Evercoat, and for the cost of a few tubes of JB Weld, you get a boatload of the stuff, and it feels like it's a million times stronger and more resilient than JB. It's used to hold body panels onto a car, and stuff like that. I've been using it for the past couple of days on R2, and it's just nuts.

In the mean time, check out my blog for the latest updates on R2, and see how I'm using this stuff in the Feb 1 and Feb 5 entries.

Which one did you get? Can you mix up a big batch before it starts to harden or just small ones? Any special prep work needed for a good bond? I'm definitely going to be getting some. JB weld never works for me.

Is it a 2-part mixture? That product site didn't really say.
Or are there 2 parts seperated inside that canister?

Yeah, it's a two part mixture thats all in that can. When you squeeze it from the bottom (kinda like a caulk tube) it comes out as two separate parts. You then mix it together just like Jb. It's fifty fifty by volume.

The thing ships with this wild syringe which will actually mix it for you as you squirt it out. Probably meant for single use, big jobs though.

I've used it with two pieces of aluminum, Aluminum to a magnet, Aluminum to steel, and PVC to aluminum. In ALL cases, it's provided a bond that is sickeningly strong. I did some experiments a week ago with different adhesives, and I can tell you that from a non scientific perspective, it sure SEEMS much stronger than JB.

For prep, I just scraped up both surfaces pretty well with some eighty grit sand paper.
