New Muppet show?

That is unfortunate. I actually really enjoyed the show.

Hopefully they won't get the axe

ABC owns the show, so it's less likely to be canceled and more likely for them to get a chance to develop more fully. TV By the Numbers (a.k.a. "The Cancellation Bear") has the Muppets currently ranked pretty favorably for renewal.

Looks like ABC isn't happy with having the highest-rated new show on Tuesdays among adults 18-49, because at the winter hiatus, they're replacing the showrunner and retooling the show.

I did enjoy Galavant, and I do feel that Galavant's style of humor and music fits the Muppets, so I may give the show a second chance after the break.

damn..... I think the show has really started to find itself now.

The episode where scooter was put in charge, you could tell they where really starting to find themselves and it got more funny.

it was also nice to see the return of the great gonzo. long over due.

what needed to be dropped where the musical guests lip synching their hit songs. that guy who did the drum battle with animal. all you needed to do was show his rehersal joke with dr.teeth and cut his musical number and then go right to the drum battle. the muppets are above shilling artists songs as a sponsor.

ABC’s reboot of “The Muppets” has suffered a substantial drop in ratings since its strong premiere in September.
The mockumentary-style show opened to an impressive 2.9 rating in the advertiser coveted adults 18-49 demographic in addition to 9 million viewers according to Nielsen live-plus-same day numbers.
Unfortunately for the Jim Henson creations, things began to slide shortly thereafter. Week two saw the new comedy drop to a 2.0 rating and 5.8 million viewers. The third episode sank even lower to a 1.7 and 4.9 million viewers. This Tuesday’s episode got only a 1.3 and 4.5 million viewers. That is a 55 percent drop off in just four weeks.

that's cause it took a long while to get going and find it's footing. just like anything recently muppets, it's smile funny....once, maybe twice... and the rest is kind of bland. but as mentioned before, I think they found their footing now..

what's everyone think?

I guess I should have seen them reversing the kermit piggy relationship. I never liked that to begin with...Piggy always seemed to bully kermit into it, so I thought how they acted in the new series was a bit more natural and fun! ;o)

the skits would have been welcome if they where actually funny. even the uber one wasn't all that great. and the fake laugh track didn't help either.

there is just something about everything post henson that no one in charge GETS what made the muppets fun. I think the best written character on the show is uncle deadly.

I'm glad they keep naming who these celebrities are. if it wasn't for their videos trending on FB, I'd have no idea who key and peele are.

Key and Peele were part of the usual not funny shows on Comedy Central. If they're on there the show is trying to hard to be hip and trendy.

the only key and peele video I've seen is the alien invasion one. it wasn't bad, but i'm not a big fan of racism humor...if that was two white guys doing jokes about the black or asian community people wouldn't have found it funny at all for obvious reasons. maybe I just saw the wrong video for first exposure.

Just finished season one and I love this show. It took a few episodes to find itself, but now it's settling into a great show. Pepe, Rizzo, and Yolanda have become my favorites in this. They regularly steal the show.

I've been enjoying the show. I still chuckle at "groping the Groban" and loved Uncle Deadly's turn as Piggy's fashion consultant. I know they changed showrunners mid-season, but it seems like they're staying the course for now.

No that's pretty much all they do which is a shame as one of their writers is really funny. Though today when flipping channels they were making fun of Africa so I think they kinda go after everyone.
