Re: New In Progress Giger Alien Xenomorph Outfit - Sculpting Head Again
I have spent a lot of time mixing and matching paint schemes to make what I think to be a close resemblance of H.R. Giger's and James Cameron's Alien. Please let me know what you think of my two different outfits...

Thanks, I aprreciate your comments. I have put a lot of time and effort into this project. I do have the dome inside the mold right now waiting for it to dry.
Re: New In Progress Giger Alien Xenomorph Outfit - Sculpting Head Again
It has been a little while since I last posted. It has been very frustrating with the problems I have been having with the chemicals. The silicone has been reacting to the clear epoxy and then the clear epoxy would not cure properly. I was able to pull a dome but it was not completely solid and some areas were gel like. The cups with the left over epoxy cured solid.
I decided to start all over again and switch to a silicone I had some luck with before on a smaller scale. Yesterday I started applying the silicone.
Here you will see one the original suit created from the beginning of this post. Please Note the head in the arms is not one of my creations. It is from an another artist that I do not have knowledge of.

I am making progress on making the dome. I have made the outer shell and the top of the dome silicone mold. Waiting for it to cure properly before I start the bottom pieces.
Here is a family picture of my Alien heads in progress...

At the start of this post you mentioned utilizing all of these obviously amazing chops ya learned in school. As someone hunting to enroll somewhere himself, was curious just where that was for you?? But, again amazing work!
Re: New In Progress Giger Alien Xenomorph Outfit - Sculpting Head Again
All in all, I am happy to be where I am today after a few failed attempts at making the dome. I have been able to remake the silicone mold and a shell to hold the mold in place. I poured a dome recently and it came out almost the way I want it to be. There are a few minor changes I have to make. I have just picked up another gallon of EpoxAcast® 690 which I am using to make the dome out of. I will attempt to make another one over this coming weekend.
