New Hasbro Toy Lightsabers

Oh yeah. I was thinking of the $8 plastic ones. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Any good pictures of the back of the box?

I wish they did though, it'd love to play wi-....I mean...Own one....:confused

EDIT - Kmart's website also has the Darth Maul FX saber listed.

Actually, that may only be $8 above retail. I was in Target in hopes of spotting the new sabers on the shelf, when I noticed they've raised the price from $34.99 to $39.99. Let's hope for some introductory sales or coupons.

So, it's been a whole five days of August... Anyone laid eyes on these yet?

I have last week at the local Walmarts up here. $42.99 (or was it $46.99 :confused ). Had about 4 Mauls and two TPM Obis on the shelf. Probably will be gone by this week.

They're... okay. If you've seen the quality of the other Ultimate FX sabers, these aren't much better.

Maul comes with a coupler just like the old Force FX Maul sabers. I think it is the better looking of either the TPM Obi or Mauls.

If anyone is looking for a decent Qui Gon that is all metal, capable of holding electronics, for $200

Considering I like these because they're under $50, and I had probelms paying $120+ for the MR FX/Hasbro Signature sabers, I should be all over that since it doesn't even have electronics... NOT. I'm sure they're just fine, but is this the correct venue to be mentioning that?

Sorry, figured some people who might be interested in something a little better than a cheap plastic toy might be interested. My bad, skip my post.

Not a big deal. But if they did want something like that, I'd hope they'd look in thread that wasn't titled "...Hasbro Toy Lightsabers". They might not find what they're looking for (Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink. Know what I mean:love).

It's an inexpensive toy, not cheap. It's an affordable option for someone who might not want to lay out $200 bucks just to get started, and possibly half that much more to get it functional. No, it's not the final word in accuracy or quality, but it does have most of the technology and all of the fun. Meanwhile, what you posted a link to is an overpriced and non-functional TOY.

Beyond that, I seem to recall the page suggested the monies for the saber be placed in his Paypal account as a gift. That doesn't exactly sound like an above board and completely legal transaction. In fact, it sounds like a protracted effort to avoid paying taxes on his little cottage business.

This is info from SWCVI Hasbro Q&A after the panel.

- Any chance of the Darth Maul FX lightsaber?

A Ultimate FX version is coming to TRU as an exclusive.

There has been no mention or showing of the Obi TPM version (at least from what I can tell other than it appears to be on the back of the box).

Check out the links to picts posted on this page and previous pages.

It is basically the same as the regular FX version. It is sold as one half with a connector included. You have to buy two if you want a double blade.

However as noted above, TRU has an exclusive which sells two halves in one package.

I wonder how much the 2-pack cost...

Darth Maul FX Double Bladed Lightsaber
With an allocation of 25, 000 pieces and a price point of $69.99, there will be plenty of Star Wars fans playing with this cool FX saber once it is released on September 1st. Like previous releases in this line, the Maul DB Saber will be in a window box.

If that is true, since most of the times these sell for $35 each, there is not really a benifit one way or the other.

IMHO, you are proabably better off wating for weekly sales and Christmas sales at other stores like Target. Not only do they have these on sale from time to time, but they also have SW/Hasbro coupon or even gift card deals that you can use in conjuntion. Last year I got my Son's Luke ROTJ UFX for $25 using a target/hasbro coupon for $5 off and a $5 off in store sale price.

I am not usually impressed with TRU sales. But if you are looking for some other big SW items, they do have a lot of BOGO 1/2 off sales. Usually the problem is have the two items you want at the same time.

Let's see. $70 plus the cost of a plane ticket to Arizona? I think I can wait. Any sightings of the Obi TPM? Knowing them, they're gonna release them one at a time from now on. Fargin' bastages!
