New Hasbro 30" X-Wing Toy - Impressions

Well, I finished my second one (yeah yeah, again I realize my painting skills are lacking). But just having the both of these together side by side lets you know how awesome these babies look together. I hope they make some TIE fighters this size.

Now I've just got to hang them somewhere. Still not sure where I'm going to do that.

Don't kick yourself on your painting skills. They look good.

And here are how they ended up on the wall. I think they turned out pretty good. Not bad for 90 bucks and a couple of weeks work.

I recently got this:
revell_xwing_1.jpg

I picked it up for a GB and want to detail it better along with lighting it up. I haven't taken a good look at the kit yet, but it looks like it's going to be some work.

I'm thinking of converting one into a model rocket. Stuff a big "G" engine up the tail and let 'er rip. Kind of a full circle back to the Maxi Brute.

I have two of these quite pleased with my first attempt.

I replaced the guns with brass and aluminium tube, filed away the engine ports and used rgb leds for the cockpit and R2. Still need to finish the stand.

what did you use for the inner wing details?
would be nice to see a build thread

very nice work

I saw them at Sams too, and they had a sale price of $39.99 ,which ends Nov. 23rd I think it was...around Thanksgiving..I'll bet they have a deal on them the day after. but for $40 with electronics..thats pretty good..I plan on getting one this week.

I saw these over at Sam's Club for $50.
I guess their version has a light-up R2D2 that also has sound.
Didn't seem to be worth the extra ten bucks to me.
so, I looked online and they are the same price as the regular one.

Wow, great work on this khitomer, the wings & brass work looks amazing

Is this made with the same type of plastic as the Hero series Falcon?....did you need to prep the plastic before painting?

While searching to find the best price I noticed Walmart has them for 24.88 online. My local store was able to price match so I couldn't pass one up. The fuselage and nose are surprisingly accurate. This thing has huge scratchbuilding potential. Grab one if you have the space.
