So i've been trying to get something going, and just havn't been able to get motivated. I've been playing alot of Fallout 3 and NV, so that was where i was TRYING to go. It didn't work out tho. But today i was at Toys R Us, and found this.

It reminded me of a low tech version of the Westar 34, otherwise known as Jango Fett's two guns.

So i'm gonna cut that stupid orange handle off, take off the tank, and paint it up nice. Also, it extends further. It's got a non functional trigger, so it uses that orange handle to pump it. It's not a bad water gun either, cause you can take the tank off and attach an outside hose to it.

So, what's anyone think? I'll post pics of my progress once i get started. (assuming i can talk my roomate's girl into letting me use her camera)

I'm interested on how your going to get this to work. The shapes between the water gun and the real gun are very different, so either your gonna have to do a lot of work, or settle for something that doesn't really look like the actual thing. What do you plan to do?

Re: New gun project. The Westar 21!

I think you misundertand. I'm not making Jango's guns exactly. This is going to be a totally new piece. It's going to be an earlier model of the guns Jango has. Basically like a pirate's flintlock to Jango's Colt peacemakers. Yea, they're both guns....even made by the same factory....but from totally different eras. The gun i'll make would have been like Jango's great grandfather's side arm.

Here's hopin it turns out cool. I'm debating on getting two and making it a set, like Jango's is.

Re: New gun project. The Westar 21!

that'd be cool, kinda like duel revolvers or sawed off double barreled shotguns if your going for the old-style gun look......you could make or buy a cylinder from a revolver and then attach it to make it look like a high-tech revolver or somethin.....just kinda sproutin ideas here...

Re: New gun project. The Westar 21!

Hm...I like the high tech revolver idea, but not for this piece. I want this to be an energy pistol like Jango's. But i do like the high tech revolver....i'm filing that one away.

Ok, i've already cut off the goofy orange pump handle. What do y'all think? Should i leave the little targetting nip on the end (I have no idea what those are really called), or cut it off and make it flush, like Jango's?

I'd leave the little sight on the end. If it's an earlier version of his weapons, maybe he got so good with them that he decided to omit it in the later version. I'd definitely pick up a second to make a proper set.

Have you decided what kind of paint scheme you are going to do?

Mm, i like the idea. And yea, i've decided to pick up at least one more of these, if not a couple more. As for the paint, that was something else i was going to ask people's opinion about. I don't think the silver and blue would look right on this, but not sure i want to go with black either.

Yeah, I think black would be too much. If any parts should be black at all, I'd only go with the trigger the "neck" and they gray detail on the grip. I think what kind of throws the eye of is that the weapon looks very 'steam punk'. I think it'd look great in a copper, brass, and silver scheme, but then it wouldn't seem very much like Star Wars. Unless of course you wanted to do a Steampunk Jango. In that case they would be dead on. Maybe check out this guy's custom figures and see if you get any ideas.

Wow, that's a good site. Honestly i was going to try and stay away from the steampunk area on the jango style ones, and do a 3rd in steampunk. Might even make a steampunk Proton pack given you can connect a hose to the gun if you want.

about the sights, i recall seeing somewhere that the westars do not have sights because they are meant for close range fights
