New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

I read a rumor earlier that would explain it BUT
a: It was spoilerish and
b: I have no idea if it's true.
That said, I hope the story I read was the real one. I'd like to see things play out like that.

I just found this and the breaking of the glass reminds me of this other picture. I wonder if there is a connection.

Even if that plot summary IS fake it's a hell of a piece of fan-fic. Reminded me of the kind of storylines they were doing in early New Adventures novels.

I doubt it's meaningful in any real way, but there are a *ton* of people from Game of Thrones in this series. Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworthy), Tobias Menzes (Edmure Tully), and Diana Rigg (Queen of Thorns) in the next episode as well.

Don't forget...in 'The Snowmen', Dr Simian DID say, "Winter is coming.".

Did anyone else notice in last weeks episode that when the console is pulled apart by one of the brothers you can hear all of the past Doctors and some of the companions from different episodes through the years. You can pick out Patrick Troughton, Tom Baker, Peter Davidson, and David Tennet for sure. So the time crack must be more than just localized in the time between when the salvage ship grabs them and the end of the episode.

One other thing, I wonder if the Doctors baby crib that we see in the episode is before or after Demons run?

So maybe The Silence was influencing the brothers?
I am really hoping they bring the Silents back in at some point.

No, "The Crimson Horror" was terrible. Not even 'meh' worthy. It wasn't the worst ever, that's relegated to "Love and Monsters" but this was pretty crappy. The only even amusing part was the Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver going from half to full mast.

I loved this episode. It was most definitely a "romp". I always appreciate the sillier Doc-lite episodes.

Though having met Diana Rigg ( she was my university's chancellor) she seems a LOT older in the last few years.

And did anyone else notice Clara playing with G1 Galvatron at the end? That was a little random. Maybe the father is a collector :)

I feared the entire episode would be the adventures of two characters I don't care about and Strax, thankfully the Doctor did show up. Phew. It wasn't bad for a Gatiss episode.

I just don't get the appeal of Jenny and the Silurian whose name I can't be bothered to remember. Strax has a personality at least. The Silurians from the two-parter had at least some personality. Jenny and whats-her-scales are bland and get blander the more I see them. I'm not sure if they're even worth putting up with just to get more screen time for Strax.

I wish we could have Strax as a companion, I'd enjoy the heck out of that.

I'm sure it is, but for most Americans, MP made it somewhat famous.

Or maybe I'm just reading a nod into something where there isn't one, but that's how I took it.

No kidding, Jenny and the Silurian are so boring. I'm not even sure what the Silurian sees in Jenny either way. Apparently Silurian must taste like chicken though.

Seriously though, the episode was terrible. It's big bad villain could have been defeated by the Doctor just nudging Diana Riggs so she falls over and breaks a hip. That's the extent of how dangerous she was. I mean I understand the Doctor isn't the most violent type, but he doesn't even have to shoot her. She's so fragile just a quick nudge and she's down screaming "I've fallen and I can't get up."

TERRIBLE episode.
