I agree River was better in this one. They've toned her down a bit and the speech was perfect.

I like that sly way of letting you know that Mark Sheppard's character is gay - also his father plays the older Canton Deleware III, which is a fun bit of casting.
I too think that the little girl in the astronaut suit is young River Song. When the astronaut zaps The Doctor mid-regeneration, his swirly energy moved off into the surrounding area - yeah, so maybe he is the baby inside Amy Pond.
Some people think River Song is the future Amy Pond (River, Pond - get it?) and that if Amy IS pregnant with the Doctor regeneration-style, it would explain River's almost motherly feelings toward The Doctor... I used to wonder if she was The Doctor's mother... she very well might be!
Also, remember that River died in the Silence in the Library episode, and The Doctor didn't know her... this is all so cool.
Annnd, The Doctor says something like "don't worry, I know you" to the astronaut right before it zaps him - wanna bet that's River Song in there, too? She's the only one obsessed with the concept of The Doctor not knowing who she is (as they are traveling through time opposite each other, sorta).
Also, The Silence aliens are CREEPY!

The only "gripe" I had was the new "intro by Amy" before you see the regular credits. It seemed too "A-Team/Knight Rider/Insert Favorite 80's Scifi or Adventure series here"-ish

Maybe it was too subtle for me, or maybe I was just too bored with some scenes to pay attention, but why do you think Canton is gay?
I'm doubting the girl in in the spacesuit in 1969 is River Song. I also doubt Amy is pregnant with the Doctor. The very fact that she tried multiple times to screw the Doctor would make that far too squicky for British children's TV I think.
Also, there's no evidence that the person in the spacesuit in the modern day beach scene was still the girl in the suit from 1969. Someone could have replaced her, and then to retain the time stream and prevent paradox showed up in the modern day so they should shoot the Doctor forcing the group to go back to 1969.

Oh Please, he could be just be making a statement about changing his mind about getting married. Not every show has to have someone who is gay, or black, or asian etc. etc. etc. One of the funniest retro making someone gay to me was Dumbledore. Yeah, Yeah he's gay...that's the ticket, I meant for you to figure it out. it's not relevant in the least to the story.
BTW, Rory is HUMAN, the entire universe was set straight thanks to Amy. If Rory were plastic, she wouldn't be pregnant, as he'd be a walking condom. This will add an interesting dimension to the show, because like in Kill Bill II, she can't be as daring and cavalier, as she now has to think about protecting that life inside of her.

Amy's not pregnant, she's got nausea from interacting with the Silence. And if she is pregnant, it's with the Doctor's child.

In series 5, Riversong is in jail for killing, and I quote, "the greatest man Ive ever known" and since she and the doctor keep meeting at the wrong times maybe it was her in the space suit. Everyone assumes that its some kind of space man, but could be a woman, I know it shows a little girl at the end, but there could be more than one of them. Maybe!!! we will have to wait and see.
