New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

One things for sure, I hope it doesn't end in some super fast instant potato's, just add techno babble nonsense ending like in the RTD finales.

Stairs that go nowhere, a Crack in the wall, a house that holds psychic echoes of Amy and even Rory (who now never existed)... There's a lot of mystery surrounding Amy's life. I really hope we haven't seen the last of her.
I also love the fact that I can't see a way out of the cliffhanger.

That 11 set does look awesome! I just hope some of the accessories are removable. Like 10's glasses. Makes me wonder why 4 has a hat but 7 doesn't. I also wish 10 was in the brown suit. I always preferred it.

I know we're not talking toys now and I'm not trying to hijack but 10's glasses are never removable but glued on, 4 has a hat because they wanted him to and 7 doesn't because they released him twice so far with a hat and lastly the brown suit, well, just give it time.

I read on Gallifreybase that a certain website will be selling the figures separately. You could always try a repaint on it if nothing else.
Head swaps are easier XD

They've made a pretty big deal this season of saying how things could change, nothing is set in stone. Otherwise there wouldn't be any suspense. For example, when Rory died he was no longer standing next to Amy on the hill in the distance.

I doubt the Moff would get rid of her without completing her entire story line. Has anyone else ever noticed that he's building up her mystique in the way he originally made Jack Harkness like in the first series? I don't think he'll ditch her now. Maybe in another series or two.

I think River's great. Not getting the hate.

She also gets the coolest props.

I agree. I don't get it either.

She is already in jail in this episode so I'm assuming she already killed whoever she killed.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if the Doctors first meting was River's last then maybe the Doctors last meeting will be HER first and that time she killed him. I'm guessing it may be that THAT will be what regenerates the Doctor to 12.

I've said this elsewhere; I'll say it here.

The "Dream Lord" was reflected in the TARDIS panel after he had 'left' at the end of Amy's choice.

The next episode featured the Silurians - who were present at the Pandorica, despite being asleep at that time - and the death of Rory - who died once already, during the Amy's Choice episode. Now he's dead again, and lives again.

The next episode featured Vincent, who painted the picture that brought this episode to the Pandorica.

River forces open the TARDIS doors, only to find - a cement wall. How surreal. How dream-like.

All of these enemies of the Doctor, suddenly and inexplicably banded together. The Pandorica is a fairy tale. Like Pandora's Box - Amy's favorite fairy tale. The whole universe exploding. It's like... a bad dream.

All the major players for the season are accounted for in the finale - Churchill, River, Vincent, the Daleks, the Silurians, Rory, The Queen, The Atraxi... Somebody's Missing.

Were there two dreams the Dreamlord started - or three? Two of which Everybody knew were false... and one that has lasted for several episodes.

After all, if so many of the Doctors sworn enemies were to actually make a pact, they wouldn't just disband if the Doctor escaped the Pandorica. They've all wanted him dead - as an alliance, they'd never have to face him singularly again. An alliance like that is literally a show-stopper. The Doctor is as hunted as Bin Laden; the alliance must be unmade - or must never have existed - for the show to continue outside of some cosmic spider-hole.

Yes - I know - but the cracks... What if the Dream Lord is a manifestation of whatever is behind the cracks? What is leaking out of the cracks? Perhaps it's the Matrix.

"The Matrix is part of the Amplified Panatropic Computer Network, or APC Net, which contains the biological imprints (or bio-data extracts) of all Time Lords as well as the memories of dead Time Lords, storing them in an extradimensional framework of trillions of electrochemical cells. It also receives input from sensors contained in the TARDIS time machines piloted by Time Lords.

Ah well - enough wankery...

Excellent analysis there! I think it may be a combination of the two, Maybe because of the cracks in time and space the Dream Lord is able to effect the Tardis to cause the explosion but at the same time he is keeping the Doctor busy with a dream scenario. I hate to pose a hypothesis like that but I like it better then them dredging up another villain though, it IS possible that this is what created the Valeyard from the Trial of a Time Lord. After all they did mention that the Dream Lord couldn't effect the real world and is the manifestation of the Doctors negativity. maybe this is just how that physical manifestation comes about?

OK, it's Wednesday...just a few more days of grinding my teeth waiting to see how this ends. DAMN BUT THAT WAS A GREAT CLIFFHANGER!!!

Maybe not, letmebestormy - I prefer not to believe that, simply because I didn't buy into a bit of cosmic sneezing powder that has been loose on the TARDIS forever - we never saw it before, nor heard it being mentioned - just suddenly decided to activate for no particular reason. That was about the most Annoying cap of an episode I had ever seen.

And, even post-sneezing powder, he was reflected on the TARDIS panel surface. Maybe the Dream Lord was real, and the sneezing powder wasn't - it was just a diversion used to make the trio believe all the dreams were over, when, in actuality, they were still in one.

...and maybe still are.

The Doctor's line to Amy asking her if she's ever wondered about the fact that her life doesn't seem to make any sense got me pondering about the whole thing.

My feeling is that Moffat has something bigger up his sleeve than "it was all (or mostly) a dream". I feel like the answer is in season premiere...but yeah, I have no idea what it is.

I love the unfolding of the arc though and part of me hopes they cliffhang this season.

and double the length of next season.

The answer has got to be in the reappearance of the Doctor to Amelia. That and the lack of Dalek knowledge are the two things that stand out as being "left to dry" without any explanation.

Also, is it possible, that Amy has forgotten what happened to her parents, aunt, etc because the crack consumed them? I'm not sure where they could go with that in one episode, but it could be something. The Doctor would have to force her to remember all those painful things that anyone would be happy to forget.

I just get the feeling that the solution is going to be "Amy has to grow up." Why does a twenty-something keep childhood dolls and drawings in her room...ALL OVER her room, in fact? Is it possible she's still just a child and this has all been play time?

I can't wait!

PS: I noticed this after the first episode, but did anyone else realize that Rory Williams is an anagram for "So I will marry?" :p I love anagrams.

Don't forget also the Doctor showing up in the Angels story to whisper something to Amy where he was incongruously wearing his coat. That may have been a jump back some how to try and resolve the current crisis.

I had forgotten about that.

Also, I have a new thought/theory: What if everything we've seen over all of these episodes has been Amy trying to remember what happened to the Doctor so she can save him from the Pandorica? The TARDIS' initial explosion would have blasted time energy across all of existence, wiping out all knowledge of the Doctor, the adventures they had, and where the Doctor is being kept...and to lose ALL of one's memories could be described as a "silence." The entire series could simply be the Dream Lord (I'm sure some of his consciousness could have been imprinted in her, allowing the Doctor to reach out of his prison to Amy in her dreams) guiding her through her memories so that she can free the Doctor and save the day.

I would actually accept that as an ending...it brings added depth to the whole "It's all a dream/fairy tale" thing that we've been thinking. Remember, all along, people told her that the "Raggedy Doctor" was just a fairy tale, maybe what she told all of those therapists weren't just stories that she invented, they were the actual tales she collected all along this season. The only continuity issue becomes Amy's age in the first episode versus her age in the rest of the series (She'd have to be at her oldest in the first episode...which I can't explain given the knowledge she has). The only explanation is if the Dream Lord was actually accidentally informing Amelia about all of their future adventures rather than Amy (Wibbly wobbly timey whimey stuff and all that jazz).

What do you guys think?

Gahh! Definitely in the realm of possibility! I just went wandering through the second episode, and got to wondering if Something happened between the time Amy slapped the "Forget" button, and the time she looked up from it only to find a message from herself to get the Doctor off the ship. I mean, if you can send yourself messages to play back after the memory erasure, it sort of defeats the whole memory wipe, doesn't it?

After watching the episode I turned to the wife and asked what did she think of the season finale. She was totally convinced that was it, because this is how most American show end their seasons these days. :D

I can't wait for Saturday, but a little worried they'll let us down again on the second half like Tenant's exit. In some ways I wish that was the season finale last week.

I'm pretty sure everything will wrap up nicely ready for the Christmas Special to start on a high.

Not sure if this has been touched upon yet but what destroyed the Cyberguard? And how come River picked up recent energy weapons fire?
