Pastel chalks will be your friend...
I'm still trying to figure out how my darn airbrush works. Not to mention how I get a can of spray paint into my Airbrush.

I've done it by turning the can upside down, and pressing it in a clamp to expel the propellant. I recommend doing this outside, but I did it in my shop by an open window. Just let it go over night.
Then I punched a couple holes in the can and poured it into a jar.
Well I have box of those, so if you could point me in a direction, I'll do some reading up.

Just bought a house with a garage... an air brush is on my list... I have no idea how one works, but I'm eager to figure it out.

Quick peek at the internal support I'm building for the BMF. It's made of MDF, so it's a little heavy, but it will provide solid support. It's 3/4" thick, so that will be the thickness of the new sidewalls. I'll glue and screw styrene sheet to the curved outer edge to start building up the details. The goal is to replicate the 5-footer, at least in spirit. Where you see lines I'll be adding curved supports to increase the top to bottom hull thickness by about 1/2 inch and add more curvature to the hull.
I'm also reducing the inside edge height of the three-sided docking ring arms (or whatever they're called). On the 5-footer, their height should be lower that the height of the gunport disc.View attachment 1940_SWI_9451.jpg

Very nice! Yeah, after looking closely and comparing to the "real thing", this toy (although very close to the real thing) would need allot of mods to make it accurate. But it's still worth every penny!

I agree, it's easier to make it the 32-incher, but to me the 5-footer IS the falcon. And I'm just a glutton for punishment!
I'm not going for rivet-counting accuracy. I'm mainly interested in the overall proportions.

Everything else is just a filming miniature of the one true Falcon,....Not including the 1/1 one.

I thought I read the 1/1 was suposed to be a model of the 5-foot, the photos of which they sent to London. Only, the London crew had to kitbash using junkyard auto parts. Maybe if they had a 57 Belair handy they could've used the chassis for the mandible details - that would've been awesome.

Will Mike be offering cast resin detail part kits here in the JY at some point or is there another forum I should check out when he's got them ready to sell?
I just saw this at my Walmart, they have about ten of them in stock. Might as well pick up one or two, clearly this was made with the hobbyists in mind.
It's essentially a snap - fit model kit that requires some talented model makers to make those missing details
That being said, I'd be all over upgrade kits and whoever produces them will have many many sales.
