New BMF coming

I am registered there though can't even remember the last time I posted!
Maybe we can arrange a group buy?

I'll likely be in. I'm registered there, but always forget to check in on how the resin parts are coming.

On a side note, check this out. Here is a Shapeways console that I purchased and it looks workable with a pair of Micro Machines figures that I happened to have.

Since our very own Mike Salzo will be the one casting these detail parts as a resin upgrade kit, I'm sure we will hear from him here as well.

Yeah I'm sure that they will be offered here also, FZ6 and Mike are both members here.

Speaking of the cockpit from shapeways; I received confirmation just now that mine and the back wall has finished printing and shipped out to me. I can't wait to see them :)

I'm really diggin the 3-D print. I didn't get the ultra detail print so I don't know how different it is but the one I did get is very nice. I'll be going back for the rest of the cockpit.

I wanted to wish all my fellow RPF folks a happy Thanksgiving. This forum is something worth giving thanks for. We are a unique bunch with quite probably unrealistic ideas on how to make the world a better place. I'm thankful to be part of the group.

I've drawn a nice, clean and accurate version of the support template :)
I still can't get my scanner to work so I'll see if I can scan it in at work tomorrow.

If any one wants to use it they will need to get their hands on some decent quality 9mm plywood.
The stuff I used was a 7 layered "engineered" type, cheap softwood ply or mdf isn't really good enough I don't think.

Hey Guys, just a quick update on my end. I have placed my SW order for all the stuff that Tony has done, that will wind up being offered in resin, I can tell you that we should be able to get these to people for significantly less than SW. I think everyone will be very happy. A huge thanks to Tony for working so hard on this.

Is there or will there be an interest or FS thread we can expect? Thank you for the heads up!

Great! I never did get a conformation email from Starship Modeler. In fact I remember trying to sign up years ago and ran into the same thing.

Tony will be in charge of that, technically i am just the caster on this one. I will be making molds, and likely multiple sets of molds, as soon as i have the parts and get them cleaned up. I will shoot for a target of being able to cast up 3 or 4 sets per day, so once the molds are made shipping should be quick...

Sounds like this is all in great hands.
If there is a list, put me on it dood!

Indeed its those bits other than the cockpit which I have been waiting for myself. Tony's cockpit and back wall are a work of art and I imagine the rest of the bits will be as good. The resin versions of the rest of the parts should be incredible and at least normal resin is a material I can understand better when building.

What is going on in here is AWESOME! :) I already have 2 falcons from walmart. I saved one as the toy...meaning it's just got the stickers on it and will most likely remain that way. The second one is the "PROJECT" version. However with all these great replacement parts, I'm going slow as to not miss out on adding all these goodies. Love that we have this falcon to mess with. However I can see how this is going to cost a bunch by the time I'm done :)

Wanted to ask to all those who have painted their falcons, have you noticed any cracking in the paint? The surface seems real flexible and it seems like some of the paint I've seen people use might flake and crack if the body gives this much. (I could be wrong). Anyhow I have started to put a thin layer of resin on the inside of my falcon(the sculp resin that doesn't get hot).. The parts I have done it to seems to have worked out well and made the falcons panels stiff as a rock.

I've been out of the model game for awhile...so hopefully I'm not too rusty.
