New BMF coming

So after 37 years thanks to toy maker Hasbro we finally have two kits that are in scale. Here's my WIP Hasbro Falcon with an old MPC TIE Fighter. Both in approximately 1/ 48-51 scale

Interesting idea... There's a bookstore down the street that sells those... I might just get one and see how it does!

Crikey...
That *Keeper Of The Force* site that Jaitea mentioned has the most amazing ref pics I've ever seen. Hundreds of them.
I may have to start my sidewalls again from scratch :)

Just FYI guys, there's a reason I have been asking for measurements for the Hasbro nose cone.....

Just thought I'd show something interesting,
if you do go ahead and make the canopy 5mm longer it gives just enough room so you don't need to take out the two supports behind.

Great news because there isn't much else holding this together anymore.

Here's the back wall in place, the pic modified is from the haynes manual which is turns out to be really close :)

I'm sure it was established earlier in the thread that its at least 5mm too short.
The original person that found it, (not me) said it was 10mm to short but I think less.

this is the 5 footer but the 32" is the same

tek2graphics posted this pic also, I'll repost so it shows properly

I know the canopy is stumpier but I'm having to make do with adjusting the bit that is too short just behind :)

Adding length to the tunnel is easir. Stetching the canopy frame is basucally a scrtch-build.

I personally like the shorter canopy frame than an elongated one. The frame on the FM is too long and bugs the **** out of me (which is why I rebuilt it on my FM).

Here you go (FWIW - I realize this post focuses on the FM which strays from the topic of the Hasbro 20")...

The top is the original 32"
Bottom left is my modified FM cockpit
Bottom right is an out-of-the-box FM
