New big-screen Star Wars Rey movie announced at SW Celebration 2023

Since the next Star Wars Celebration has been announced (i.e. Japan 2025), here are my predictions for the announcements we'll be getting then:

A new Finn movie with John Boyega returning to reprise the role. It'll probably be directed by a female Tiktoker with zero feature filmmaking experience.
A Palpatine Begins movie, bookended by scenes outside the operating theatre, as the Emperor narrates his life story to a freshly baked Anakin as they wait for the Ugnauts to 3D print his armor, sand, prime and paint for the entire duration of the movie.
A movie about the first Jedi-Sith War, with the Jedi primarily represented by women of diverse ethnicities while the Sith are mainly Cis white men.

This is of course after we find out a few weeks or days prior that the Rey movie, the Filoniverse movie and Mangold's first Jedi movie are no longer in active development.

I'll be honest, one part of me is having a good chuckle reading everyone's weird, whiplash, toxic speculations and negative dead-horse beatings.

The other part of me is wondering if there is a carbon-monoxide leak in this thread and I'm the only person wearing a gas mask.....

They apparently have been talking about this for over a year. KK (IIRC) stated that the script should be done in a month or so.

That's anywhere between 27 and 30 days longer than needed for anything Disney star wars needs to complete a green lite filming script. Bet they finish ahead of schedule too.

Tell you what...

Next time there's something YOU enjoy, whether it be a restaurant, some media content, a vacation spot, or anything... You share that you like/enjoy it around others, then watch as they stand in line to tell you how it is nothing but garbage/trash/dreck/raw sewage or worse, how it should be burned with fire, buried, dug back up & shot, bludgeoned, stabbed, & poisoned, then take ALL those involved with what you're enjoying & tar & feather them, have them drawn & quartered, then their carcasses hung in the street, & then how they care NOTHING ABOUT what you like, but watch as they pop up at every opportunity to whine & complain about how they've personally been wronged, ESPECIALLY in places where it's appropo of NOTHING.

Let that happen constantly wherever you try to discuss it with like-minded folks, & THEN say they're only criticizing the THING.

Now here's the fun part...

Watch how they're only sharing opinions & not talking about members & only exercising their right to discuss the topic. If Obi Wan had the high ground that they're standing on, they could've taken out the entire Empire, not just Anakin.

I believe The reason so many accuse Disney/KK/Producers/Directors/Actors if destroying their childhoods is because mentally & emotionally, that's where they're still living. It's not the distant past, it's last Thursday.


But hey... This isn't directed AT anyone. I'm just criticizing the CONTENT of the PRODUCT that I chose to give my dollars to.

Good job you didn't take it personally isn't it, otherwise you'd not notice I am also a member of The RPF which makes it a high possibility that I have indeed experienced that growing up because I liked things that many were quite happy to deride quite publicly.

You may also notice that nowhere have I called for such extreme things, nor suggested anyone liking them are anything more than fellow fans who simply have a different opinion, but the hyperbole is superb and I applaud you for it.

Now I am more than willing to always quantify my comments to highlight that there has been plenty since the Disney takeover that I have hugely enjoyed, but seems like that isn't good enough for some once I write anything criticising what I don't like.

Yeah... I spent the weekend with the Livestream of Celebration playing in the background, & was encouraged to see the turnout & hear how far several of the folks had traveled.

There were several things there I could care less about & most of the host/interviewers were less than prepared/professional, but I think I realized throughout the 4 days is that SW is FAR from dead. Good content will continue, bad content will continue, stuff we like, stuff we love, & stuff we hate will continue, & when we're all gone, the franchise, in one form or another, will be dancing on our graves.
