As a heads up to anyone in the US be aware that TRU and Target have some pretty decent deals going on right now. Target is buy one get one 50% off on all nerf products. TRU has bogo 50% off on all their sonic series (translucent green) and quite a few other nerf items are on sale, including the n-strike raider for $27.74. The Raider is currently being packaged with an extra 30 round drum magazine and 70 darts as a TRU exclusive. Considering what the 30 round drums sell for alone its a good time to stock up. If the 15 round drums are more your style you can get them bogo 50% at Target.

Awesome!!! I found a picture of the one I made before it was painted so you can see all of the separate parts used. It turns out that they no longer make the longshot. So finding an end from one to make more of these is gonna be tricky. I can't wait to see your finished product. :]

I was noticing the thread read count and it's at almost 140k, that's pretty awesome and thanks to everyone who contributes via photos or just helpful posts. They all make this a pretty popular thread and I appreciate that.

Hey SOTI, thanks for the offer but the only problem I've got is UK customs, not sure how easy it'd be to get them through and Im sure that living in rip off britian that the shipping would be a killer. Saying all that its definitely something to keep in mind.

I was amazed just what's out there. If you look on toysrus.co.uk I think theres something stupid like 15 items listed and something like 150 on the .com site.

My 5 year old has asked for a maverick and reckon for xmas (hes only got a nite finder so far) and he runs round saying "its nerf or nothing". Makes me so proud :lol

If it's a one time deal or not too often, and the fact it's so close to X-mas, I'm pretty sure marking it a "gift" would cut down or eliminate customs cost. I have a friend in the UK, I sent him a box full of Korean stuff for his wife and daughter, and I don't think he had to pay anything outrageous for customs.

Another question... what are you guys doing to fix these paint jobs?

Are you using a clear coat or varnish of some kind?

Do you use a fixative or varnish during the painting job, to help protect it as you go?

I don't know about the other guys but I just use a matte clear coat spray paint. Just the normal stuff you can get at Lowes. I apply about two to three coats after the paint has cured. :]

Also! I just got back from Walmart and saw a Nerf gun I'd never seen before.

Hey guys just had a PM and wanted to quickly clear something up. When I posted and mentioned my gun earlier I really didn't mean for it sound like "hey look at my mod everyone" I simply meant it as a thank you fron EVERYONE whose posted their mods so far for the praise we've recieved.
