Love the little details on this. I got some Scouts the other day, but I'm still trying to decide what to do with them.

Thank you, I still see lots of opportunity, but the guns tend to hit a diminishing returns point in the painting process. I have to stop at some point, but I always try to throw in some little things they'll only see in person :)

Good luck with the scouts, those are my favorite!

Here's one that I'm kind of proud of. For once I was able to do something that hadn't really been done yet:

I used a Max Force Shadow Hawk (a non-Nerf gun that shoots wet paper wads, basically spit balls) and turned it into a Barrett 50. cal-inspired sniper rifle.

These Max Force guns are sort of new and not much has been done with them yet (just a couple of repaints I've seen, and some people have added functional triggers).

I cut off the extraneous pieces on the barrel to make it a bit less sci-fi looking, cut off the sites along the top and added a trigger. (The regular gun doesn't use a trigger, it's fired by pulling the fore end back and releasing)
The trigger is not functional, but I needed it for a more realistic look. (I cut the gun open and made space for a trigger and then used epoxy to add one of those front end Longshot triggers).
I also added a real AR15 bipod to the front of the gun.

Everything about the gun still works as new.

I had to bump up the exposure a bit in the pics to make details visible because the thing is flat black and flat dark grey, but it looks very realistic in person.

Might as well show the rest of my recent work while I'm at it:

A Buzz Bee Rapid Fire Tek:
(I also painted up the little shells that come with it)

Another Air Zone Punisher gatling gun with extended barrels, still functional:

A Nerf Firefly with extended gatling barrels (this one no longer fires, the barrels I used were not quite wide enough to allow the dart to go in and out) (Oh, and I saw someone else sell one of these online, so I can't take credit for the design idea) I thought it had an Aliens kind of look.

A couple of sawed off Buzz Bee double barrel shotguns:
I always disliked the bulbous end at the bottom of the stock on these, but it's partly there because that's where the firing mechanism is located. So for one of these guns I just cut it off the stock and made it a non-firing prop gun:

For the other one, I cut the stock down as much as I could, but still left it as a functioning gun:

Another Nerf Vulcan:

And a deploy/longshot hybrid (in the style of an Aliens pulse rifle)

Wondeful work, you definitely deserve your screen name, Max :) Thanks for sharing the guns :)

Here's a mixup of some new stuff I'm working on, I've been neglecting the photo editing part of all this, but I should be able to take a breath after I ship the last few weeks worth of stuff, haha

Nerf Element WIP, looking a little Terra Nova I 'spose :)

you sanding all the gun before starting to paint? Primer wont stick?

For sure. They all get sanded over 100% of the body and all unneccessary logos are removed as well. The primer sticks very well with the process I use (at least on the last 350+ guns it has!)

I'll be interested to see how these two come out. This weekend I'm starting on a few new projects. The Nerf Scout, a Super Soaker Point break and two Super Soaker Bottle Blitzs. I'll try and get some starting pics up.

Those will be cool, I promise to get after those as soon as I can!

Wow - you've been busy!

Throw in a busted heater hose and it makes for a busy week, haha! It was good running into ya! :)

these are awesome paint jobs, but the Nerf logos are bothersome. Im just starting out but cant you sand off the logos?

Wow...The paint and weathering work on these are out of this world! I am truly inspired...fantastic job :thumbsup

Thanks! These guys out a lot of time into the guns, it's appreciated when people get enjoyment out of seeing (and buying!) them :)

The logos are a personal choice, depending on what they're willing to put into the gun time-wise. I use to leave them on way back when, but I shave most sly logos unless they're in a spot that makes it impossible without damaging other details on the gun. Even those could be, it's more time and that means more expensive :)

Haha your work is awesome, really top notch stuff! I spend about 5-8 hours a day on the guns so it gets pretty tiring by the end of the week ;) Now that I have bigger tools to do more fabrication I hope I can do more unique stuff, but the orders keep me busy enough that I don't have as much time for my fun stuff this time of year.

I'm so glad you guys continue to share your work here. I just finishe up 6 more stampedes and because they look very similar to the others I'm trying not to just post up clones. They are still unique, but the last thing I want is for people to get bored :) The other side of that is I dot have as much to post and folks may think I've slowed down :)??I think at last count I have 11 guns working this week so I shall have more to share shortly! In the meantime keep the photos coming!
