Hey Guys and Gals,
My name is Grant and I'm new here on the RPF but have been involved in costuming and prop building for a little while now.
Some of my friends and I are now embarking on doing "Colonial Marines" costumes from the "Aliens" movies and I got this bee in my bonnet about building a replica of the Sentry gun, like that used in "Aliens" (extended cut)to defend the corridors.
I decided I wanted more than just a static prop so came up with a design for an operating system to install in the gun to make it much more interactive.
So ...without any further ado I present the building of my sentry gun.
I hope you enjoy,
G
This is what I am using as reference.
Now the build begins !
Then I needed to lay out the internal workings and test them (see attached video)
*** WARNING *** some colourfull language used (hit in very sensative area)
Meanwhile the build continued ....
OK ...you get the idea
Would like to see more ?
Cheers all,
G
