After seeing Adam Savage customise a nerf blaster on tested I thought I'd give it a go. Here's some I've done so far. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Cheers! The last ones an x shot vigilante. I didn't do too much to the shape, just added some scroll work to give it a steam punk vibe. [IMG]

That really is fantastic work. I always love seeing NERF and other toy gun conversions - there's always such creativity on show. But moreover, it shows of the more fun side of what this hobby is about.

Thanks, I drew it up on autocad & then engraved it out of 3mm acrylic on the laser cutter.

    Did another one today.
Not to the same level as the others, just a quick & dirty one. 2 hours start to finish & that includes paint drying times. [IMG][IMG]

Absolutely stunning! I love what you're doing with these. My son has a bunch of Nerf guns and I'm starting to get some ideas about what to do with them.

Thanks! Yeah nerf guns are great prop platforms, they are mostly ABS too so that helps with glueing & painting.

I have just started in the steampunk style and my daughters got me into it. I have done some very basic types with acrylics.

    Re: Nerf based blasters

Some guns that I already had done, resprayed & brought into line aesthetically for an upcoming short film. Sad to see the destiny style sniper resprayed but I think it's even better looking now! [IMG][IMG]

A couple of pistols for an upcoming pilot.
    Done on a crazy tight budget. 2e9d827600af13e2f0c4434deb591b2f.jpg 3f73fb11597a32d49e5771a893b6e00a.jpg eb8c07ae32af2adee00cf70575de785e.jpg 1f4badd2c486e67b4a15ef4598b97930.jpg

Cheers! It's a CYMA P698+ bb gun, a cheap & cheerful alternative to the g33 advance that they use in the expanse as the star helix pistol.

Thanks! I'm a modelmaker by trade but I don't really get to do that sort of stuff, mostly museum pieces, exhibition & oil industry.
I get a kick out of making things look beat up as everything I do in the day job has to look pristine.

Some more old pics I forgot to share.
Done as part of the same job as the last two pistols.
The brief was for two clean, well maintained villain rifles, two clean Palace guard type rifles & one beat up mercenary rifle.
Made out of Nerf & airsoft guns on a tight budget IMG_20181120_092339_397.jpg IMG_20181120_092519_094.jpg IMG_20181120_092737_855.jpg

Beautiful work! I love how you reworked the body of the guns so they don't just look Nerf Guns. Did you use styrene for the first rifle? Again, very nice job.

Nice. That one is definitely my favorite. How long does it take you to complete one? I know it can vary project to project. I tend to start a lot of projects, take a lot of time working on them, and then don't end up finishing them... I'm amazed at how fast some people can work and finish a project.

    Not long, 1or 2 days.
If I make it up as I go along then it'll usually be done in a day but if I'm sticking to a look then a day planning/sketching & another day building it.
