Need suggestions on removing modeling clay

I guys, I have a 3d printed helmet that I thought I would modify with modeling clay. Now that I am trying to remove the clay, I am getting some resistance in doing so. I've used a knife to remove the bulk of the clay, but I just can't get in certain crevices. Can I use a acetone or something along that line where I can remove the clay and at the same time not damage the 3d printed parts? Thanks very much in advance...

I believe Lacquer Thinner will dissolve the clay and leave the printed parts alone. Be sure to test on a small piece of printed material FIRST!

Yes do not use acetone or alcohol. They are good for removing ink or paint. You need turpentine or white spirit.

I use plasticine myself on mold walls and I am sure metho melts it and should not affect the print.
