Need help with battle damage....

I have been building a Skyrim Yngol helmet, and I am at this point with it:

I now want to add in some battle damage like gashes and dents etc and want to know the best way to go about it. I have see many people do it, but I would like to know what tools are used to make it happen.

Any help would be awesome!

Oh and if you're interested in the build process, I post the pics on this build here: http://www.therpf.com/f9/skyrim-helm-yngol-pic-heavy-148069/

Thanks y'all

That's a fine helmet you've made good sir :thumbsup

For hard materials like plastic or resin, I'd use a dremel and then use a file, sandpaper and/or craft knife to achieve whatever gash/damage effect I'm after.

Hope that helps

For something as banged up as a skyrim helmet, just use a dremel with the cutting wheel attachment for gashes......

Thanks guys, thought there was a method I might have been overlooking... I was thinking a hacksaw maybe... I dunno... I'll mess around with it tomorrow.
