Hi everyone. I need your help again.

I'm in the process of scratch building a Boba Fett jetpack. I'm ready to put together the fuel tanks and need a PVC tube with an outside diameter of 2 5/8".

I looked in the Home Depot plumbing department and some other hardware stores. All they had was 2" or 3". Maybe I'm not looking in the right department. Do they even offer 2 5/8" o.d. in PVC?

If someone could suggest a solution that would be great.

Thanks for your help.

Does it have to be pvc?

You should be able to find 2-5/8" o.d. metal tubing (used in exhaust systems) cheap at your local auto supply store.

Thank you all for the responses.

INCOM, you actually have a good point... It doesn't have to be PVC. I've thought about using metal, but I was concerned with the final weight of the pack.

The other day I happened to find a cardboard tube at the UPS store at the right diameter. What if I were to brush it with fiberglass resin? Would that be enough to strengthen the cardboard tube?

That should do just fine, and would certainly be cost effective :thumbsup

There is an awesome metal salvage place in the bay area. You might find a dealer near you. Mine will cut it to length. Minimum charge waived during these crap economic times.
