3D Printing issue help

I got some Elegoo PLA Silk silver and I've been trying to find the best setting to get it shinier. I printed out a little skull from a cartoony skeleton I had. The bone colored version used eSun PLA+ and it's completely smooth. The Elegoo silk has some artifact above the brow and on the right cheek (which you can't see). Both were printed at .1mm. Any idea what caused that artifact on the silver one? I'm new to 3D printing so no idea what caused this.

I'm no expert, but...

To my eye, as the layer paths get smaller, you're getting oozing that gets more prominent. I see some stringing, as well.

Maybe try reducing the flow or the temp. Doesn't look like you would need to change it much.

Also, some slicers have settings for such short path circuits.

The lighter one looks great.

Not all filament is created equal.

I'll check that out. I know they said the silk filaments can be finicky to get the smoothest (or shiny in this case), which is what I was testing. I just used the included Bambu PLA silk profile, which Reddit people suggested. My nephew said he thought the nozzle might have stuck to the brow, which is kind of what I was thinking at first, no idea though. So far that eSun PLA+ bone color is the smoothest I've seen yet. I'm printing a 20" tall Mythosaur skull (in four parts) with it right now.

Youre other print is very smooth. I would try to bump up the temp up just a little to see if it helps, its just going to take a bunch of small adjustments to dial in the settings on the new filament.

I think the issue was the temp was too high. I was taking the spool off and noticed it said (Elegoo - 220 degrees). I printed out another one and it was shinier, but still had a little, though smaller blemish on the brow. I'm going to bump it down to 215, from what some people have said, and see if that does any better or worse. The Bambu Silk PLA profile I used previously is set to 230 degrees.

Turn heat up to 3- 5 degrees below MAX.

turn down print speed 10%

Play with retraction settings.

A new plastic has been developed for 3D printing

Odd
