NEBULON B MEDICAL FRIGATE STUDIO SCALE 3D MODEL

That is some exceptional work! I am excited to see the final product! The level of detail is incredible. How will it be split for printing?
What software do you use to model in?
Thanks Sophie...still figuring out the method for printing but probably print most of the larger greeblies and part clusters on an FDM printer and all the rest in resin. The super structure will be split to print where possible but will need some scratch building with sheet material and Aluminium tubes. I use Blender and Zbrush mostly

More progress...got all the port side of the front section, done now. Next up is finishing the 'nest' of parts that make up the 'neck', and model the spine/hull cladding starboard side

Looking good! Not sure if you were planning to make this available, but if so would you consider leaving all the greeblies/plant-ons as separate objects? So-called "plunging geometry" works perfectly fine for printing while also giving max flexibility to the person doing the printing.

While a lot of people merge everything into one structure I find that's often a big pain when it comes to assembly and clean-up. I prefer to build my printed projects like a model kit by keeping as many of the details as separate as I can. Sometimes I'll use FDM printing (or even laser-cutting) for some of the structure and resin printing for all the plant-ons. :D

Thanks Star-art...yeah I am happy to offer it in whatever format is preferred. I will probably adopt the same methods for building mine.

So by far the most difficult, brain shredding part of the model is now complete; the neck of the main front section. Packed with all sorts of kit parts, many not listed in any part maps...really obscure stuff from unheard of kits. Anyway I'm all modelled up to the Falcon docking point now so next is the 'bridge' tube;

Lookin' good!

The added Jedi detail seems pretty odd in an ESB context, but many are common to other models from that film. I was not very familiar with Jedi subjects when I ID'd it, so spent some time re-inventing the wheel. As always for a model this complex there are quite a few unique surprises.

In addition to the adds a couple of "shelves" from the front of the engine section fell off post-ESB. Most available reverence shows the Jedi changes. But there is some about that shows how it was filmed for ESB. I think I'm in a minority in that I generally like the Jedi adds. Just a few clunkers in the hull area that I will probably omit on my build. I do like the missing shelves however, so adding those back.

That particular part is from a Revell 1/230th Skipjack submarine
Thanks but I think that kit is too recent for the Nebulon model

So, just an update on progress...still waiting for ref on the underside of the 'bridge' section but most of the tail box is done except the complex 'neck' area...

Don't trust Scalemates. Revell reboxed the 1/230th kit in 2001. But it's actually an Aurora tooling from the 1960's. The tolling its now with Atlantis - I think?

I'm curious as to what computer you are using. I need to build or buy a new one. Massive polygon counts are causing my old computer to curse me in multiple languages, lol.
