NCIS Abby's Caf-POW cup

Finished up my version a little while ago. The pic below is a 72 dpi jpeg. Ill take the PSD file to work on Monday and see about getting it printed on adhesive vinyl sticker material.
I was almost at a standstill trying to figure out how to do the background and the zig zag lines at the top and bottom. After accepting that there was no way in hell I was going to duplicate them exactly, I did a striped background and then warped the hell out of it in Photoshop. The zig zags at the top and bottom are based on the flat image from the "no Caf-Pow" label that was shown in this thread earlier.
Although I will attempt to remove the original screen printing on the cup, a rough printout of this file covers up all of the original design from 7-11. That'll work for me.

Fantastic work! :D Sign me up for one.

Well I just went out to my local 7-11 and called the other ones in the area, and the double gulp cups are now red.

Time to dig a little deeper on this.

If cups wouldn't be available , then vacuuming the cup from an excising one would be a good option. That was my first idea when i was thinking about this project

Gregg, you've been to the set, were the real cups made with stick-on labels or screen printed?

If someone can get ahold of one of the prop guys from the show, we can find out where they get theirs, and it would make the whole project a whole lot simpler. :)

The cups were standard double gulp cups with the lables stuck on them. The lids are painted red to make it look like the cups are full, whereas in reality there is only a can of Hawian Punch stuck to the bottom of it.

Hope that helps :)

What TeeKay said. I wish I'd grabbed one.

I wonder how much 5000 cups would cost? Maybe .10 -20 each? Not sure it'd ever be feasable to make $1000 bucks back, but it'd be cool.

I think if it's ok, I'll call 7-11's corporate headquarters tomorrow, find out who provides their cups, and see if we can get a few hundred blank ones. I just really want to see this happen.

But that might attract unwanted attention. A hundred prop replica cups the studio likely won't care about, but 5000 might trip a "copyright violation" flag.

I think that's a great idea! :)

Sounds good! Maybe the rest could be peddled off to the various fan clubs/ eBay sellers, etc. in batches of a hundred or so?

My solvent-jet printer we use at work is down. Graphics guys tell me they need to rebuild the print head. :( Ill get my version printed off someday, just don't know when. Ill probably offer up a small run in the JY if they turn out ok.

good idea. I should get mine done soon. I need to get some done for the UK guys :)

Yay!! Looking forward to getting a couple!!! My better half is so looking forward to getting them!!!!

I called the 7-11 corporate office but haven't heard anything back. Like I said, the double gulp cups out here are red.

Blah.

Ok I know I haven't posted in the thread yet. I have been looking all over the internet for the cup and had no luck. But I drink alot of soda, so I look though my cups and found one. The one I found isn't a 7Eleven cup. But it is a local copany. I think my sister sold them paper products. Is if they still have the cups we might find out who made them. I will check tommorrow.

yeah that 's what i did. it's a 64 oz. cup but the design may be more of 7-11's. I looked everywhere myself. there may be more white cups at various locations.

I noticed Abby traded the Caf-Pow for a puppy in tonight's episode!

On topic, I hope these cups can be sourced. It would be great to have the logo printed directly on the cups in such a way that they can be used and washed.

yeah that would be best. My idea was to have a static prop on the shelf but with everyone's thought's it would be cool to have a real cup. Why the CBS store haven't cashed in on this idea is beyond me.
