Narnia swords

Hi. I know MR has made only ONE sword from LWW and that's Peter's sword, but I'm not too fond of it. What I'm asking is if there are plans being made by either MR or other sword reproduction companies to make the other swords from the movie. I'd KILL for either Orius's swords or Gen. Ottman's large sword :D, but would settle for the basic Centaur or Minotaur swords if they didn't make the ones I REALLY wanted. Any info would be appreciated.

Feel free to post your thoughts on this matter. I'd love to see a reaction to more Narnia swords.

Given the problems with the first sword, I doubt it. The first one had packaging problems with too much grease/oil on the blade making them a pain to clean up for display. I heard from a number of collectors that the gold lettering came off when cleaning it up. I have to think the smaller gift packages have not done too well. The smaller shield was a great package but the other two were lacking in my opinion. Given the eBay mark down on the sword, I have a feeling this franchise will not do well for MR.

Its a real shame as the props wer terrific, the sword once cleaned up was a great piece. I hope if MR does not take advantage of the license, someone like United Cutlery would. Its a great franchise to produce some super items if the company doing so will listen to what the fan base wants.

I know, UC is AWESOME. I'd go straight to them if my movie's swords were ever to be reproduced. UC does overprice in some cases, but the handiwork is GREAT. If these swords never get made, I'll have to resort to making them myself on my granddad's ShopSmith by using the stock removal technique on planks of wood and using metallic paint and making the furniture out of either blocks of wood or using a casting technique and then painting over them or using leather wrap.

Thanks for answering me :D .

I just won one of these from MR. Although it doesn't really fix my collection (it's on ebay right now) it looked great. I didn't see any problems with it.

The packaging with the grease was one problem. The peg teeth on the lion the pommel was another. The gold gilt coming out another. And finally absolutely no place to place the MR plaque on the display plaque was plain poor planning. Neverless, this was a well made piece and cleaned up and in good shape, it is a beautiful well made replica in itself.

Sounds like they tweaked out the oil/grease. Then its a matter of sharpeing the tteth on the pommel and re-designing the wall plaque to allow for display of the MR plaque as well.

What is this grease problem? And the peg teeth, I've seen one that didn't have that problem in its design. Could anyone post pics of these problems.

They were packing the swords up in a protective bag cover with a tone of grease/oil. I and others had to carefully peel the plastic off in strip it was so thick. Made the sword look like the aged deteeorated LoTR swords with the plastic off taken off the MR sword. Had to be cleaned including the leather grips. Mine took about an hour to clean up and a few ruined towels to do so.
PM me with your e-mail address and I can shoot you a picture of mine with the peg teeth.

Tripoli's sent me the pic of the peg teeth and I must say they stick out like a sore thumb when compared to the rest of the sword. I guess my buddy must've done some custom work on his like I had to do with my cheapo Anduril (Really a crappy Narsil with incorrect runes merely scratched unevenly into the fuller.)
