My Time Bandits map - finished and printed!

And...yes? Again, just curious. We both used the same exact reference material and I'm interested in knowing how they differ. ???

Hey chris_s this is really excellent work! I recently started on my own Map of All Creation and am currently wondering how best to choose colors for the background "nebula" wash. There's a light blue and a dark blue. I could just start to futz around, but was wondering what method you used because the blue background looks like it printed very nicely.
jheilman, you too, how'd you pick colors to match?

Thanks for your help!

My background is darker than Chris_s, but it's literally pick what looks right to you and then run a color test on the printer and material you will use to see how it actually prints.

jheilman has it exactly right. It really is just a matter of trying a few different shades until you hit one that looks good to you. The trick is to have it printed - since the colors on your monitor will differ wildly from the colors that actually come out of the printer. But essentially it's trial and error.
