My take on the Alien as a toddler! UPDATED 6/1

Re: My take on the Alien as a toddler! UPDATED 5/25

That's exactly the way I do these bakes, when I cut the over off I leave the door ajar with the sculpture in there... Sometimes it cracks, though most times it perfect! Good advice, buddy, thanks for sharing!!

So if it does crack, what do you use to fill it?

I use Apoxie Sculpt

OK, so the stuff I have here is clearly a different product. The stuff I have feels like soft Plasticine, but would be useful to fill a hole of a gap.

Yeah, this stuff is 2 part mix... You can sculpt with it as well before it cures and smooth great with water. Plus once it's cures it sands like a dream!

My stuff is one part, cured by baking. Clearly a different product.

That means a lot coming from the guy who helped inspire this whole project! ;) I've been watching your incredible work as well, my friend! An extraordinary sculpting job!!

Having done a good few clear pulls now, what I found was every little imperfection or spec of dust on your buck will transfer to the clear part.

Make sure it's glass smooth and dust it before doing a pull, also make sure your plastic is dust free.

That's good to know! Thanks for passing that along!

Wow!... I'm glad to see there's still an interest! ;)

I've recently moved and am getting settled in to the new digs so I've not done anything with this little guy in a while. I did however do a silicone buck for the dome but I've not done a pull from it yet. It's currently packed up but I need to dig it out and get back to work on it. I was planning to give the dome a break as I was stuck on exactly how I was going to do it and start working on the body.

Cavx... brother, that is OUTSTANDING!!!! That is really clean and smooth!! I'll post the measurements when I dig the head back out but I thinks it's around 6 to 8 inches.

Thanks for keeping this going! This is just the "kick in the pants" I needed to get back on this again!
