I am waiting to seal up the X-Wing after I replace the cockpit insert with a different one that is being made by a modeler on the boards at Starship Modeler that matches the accuracy of the X-Wing full scale cockpit set.
I picked up an extra SN TIE and am either going to make a wingman OR scratchbuild a new Vader TIE using the main cockpit ball as a base to match the standard TIE (I just don't know if I want to take on the headache since accurizing the Chris Kelley X-1 took quite a bit of work...)
An interesting note on the pilot... it was easy to swap his head with a Hasbro Luke head that I think has a much better looking face and helmet... so the pilot is essentially the same scale as the Luke Hasbro figure, but out of scale with the R2 unit in back. Oh well... once the cockpit is done and closed up, you won't be able to tell the difference.
I also scratchbuilt an extra Death Star tile to add to the 5 piece set created by Tony Agustin being sold at Starship Modeler... his 5 piece set and this scratchbuilt tile will complete what I think is a much cleaner Icons base replica (all that's left is for me to finish the tower that will support the acrylic rod the models then attach to.)
If anyone wants one that is doing a base with Tony's tiles, let me know and I can cast some up for people (the tower support too when it's done.)
