Hi Michael,
the visor is mounted in static position.I will lock for reference material to rework it that I can move it up and down.
If Andrew made this in 1976 they was original in static position and for ESB it was modified.

GREAT LOOKIN X-WING HELMET! Is he taking orders for this as I dont see it on his website? Good luck with the paint job, you must be the first person to get one of these. If you don't mind me asking how much does it sell for? (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

The helmet is not on Andrew webside yet,but you can order it from him via e-mail.It is available with amber or grey visor. And it is expensive (GBP 250) but looks more movie accurate and is from the original maker.
Jez, I had send you larger pictures to the e-mail adress from your webside.

Ed, do you need one that's that expensive and doesn't have a movable visor? :wacko

What's up with your huge Avatar space with no image in it? Didn't fix it from the board change over, did you? :unsure

Removed it. You'll have to set up a new one, Ed. See this thread for why some avatars are being removed:

Wow, 500 bucks... Umm meesa thinks Id rather spend a little more for a REAL helmet and a kit and have it painted.

But it does look nice! As long as your happy with it then its a great score!

Cant wait to see the paintup, Ive always been partial to Wedges scheme, always seemed very millitary to me, more real world, if you catch my drift.

Not everyone is affected by the weak American dollar. :lol
Good looking helmet ya got there!

My son and I dropped round SDS a couple of weeks ago...here he is with the one on display...I haven't seen them advertised either!

I wouldn't be modifying it if I was you. Like you say, this is how the originals were constructed. If it was mine I'd get the smoked gray visor, put the star shaped foam in it and slap blue insignia on it to make an accurate replica of the blue group background helmets.

While that does look pretty nice, as others have said, for the $500 pricetag, you could get an actual APH-6 and have it fully decked out. I'd go that round without hesitation. But that's just me. To each his own.
