My Rocketeer Jetpack

Nickel-plating... THAT is brilliant. My lust for a rocket pack just increase tenfold. Hope my liner suits you well Adam.

I think he said he had it chrome-plated.
Nickel plating would have given it a duller shine with less reflection.

Awesome pack. One day I will have one. :)

If you need help with the Arduino programming let me know. Something like what you want should be pretty straightforward. You'll want to use a transistor between the Arduino and your LED strips as the Arduino cannot provide enough power directly. You could easily add the start up sound effect as well as make the flaps move.

I wrote up an Arduino tutorial here-
Arduino animatronics- make your awesome costumes more awesome!

I hit the chrome with some scotch pad (green kind). Dulled it nicely. Then I spraypainted the rivets and every corner with some Plastikote black lacquer primer (my favorite) and took it back off as best I could with some #000 steel wool (might have been #0000). I love how it came out. So freaking cool. Next up: Lights! Fan! Harness!

I'm super happy with the look. I'm thinking about electroplating the nose cones with real brass. Why the hell not? Make a charged bath and hang the pack upside down in it. How hard could THAT be?

We'll likely do another podcast about the pack after Comic-Con. It'll be nice to carry something through to completion on Tested.com.

Looks incredible Adam :) great job!! I love how the dulling worked on the chrome but the black you knocked back with steel wool is just perfect.
