My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): "Home-Theater finally finished!"

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): FRANKENSTEIN (1931)

The person "responsible" for my interest in movies (fantastic) was also my mom (not because I was at home sick, but simply because she really enjoyed Hammer Classics and so I often got to see some of those great movies).

Moms can be pretty cool sometimes, huh? :)

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): FRANKENSTEIN (1931)

Lovely piece for the collection,Adam.
I have to agree ,Moms can be very cool.My Mom is almost 85 and very ill,but with a sense of humour that is unmatched. When I was a teenager she encouraged my interest in music and whatever myself and my brothers were doing, both her and my Dad did whatever they could to help out.

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): DRACULA (1931)

In keeping with the classic ''Universal Monsters'' theme, my next addition to the collection is a replica of the medallion worn by the immortal Bela Lugosi in the 1931 film Dracula. (It's made by Factory Entertainment.) Factory Entertainment

I've been eyeing this prop for a while now, but I was pretty hesitant at first. I was worried that the medal itself would have a thin ''tinny'' feel to it based on the few pictures that I'd seen floating around on the internet. I'm pleased to say that it has a very nice heft to it and is extremely solid when you hold it in your hand. Definitely worth the money in my opinion if you're a fan of the classic 1931 Dracula movie.

Hey Adam

Now I'm really getting jealous...
I think it's great that you're keeping with the classic ''Universal Monsters'' theme
Looks a very nice piece and another great addition. Sadly a bit pricey for my budget but I may get the ring....
Congrats for another great item

That's not a bad idea. That ring looks like a pretty cool piece. (I'd probably end up going with the $35.00 one myself.) Factory Entertainment - Universal Monsters The Ring of Dracula Collectors Edition Prop Replica

Here's a couple of pictures of the two new items in the prop room.

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): DRACULA (1931)

''Nooooooo!'' I just checked in on this thread and noticed that the incomparable Mr Webber has been banned?!! (And ''at his own request'' to boot, according to the Member Ban Log.) What the heck is that all about? He was one of the most interesting participants on this forum! Some of the ideas for props and displays that he came up with were incredibly inspiring! (Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, James Bond, Mad Max, Buckaroo Banzai, and The Maltese Falcon just to name a few of my favorites of his off the top of my head!) This is very sad news indeed. (n)( I hope that everything is okay with him. ''You will be missed Mr Webber. Here's to hoping for a possible return.'' -Adam C.

Great collection! And beautifully displayed, as well.

I have questions on three items:
1. Where did you find your miniature Ark of the Covenant?
2. Where did you find your stand for your Fertility Idol?
3. Are your Kill Bill swords from handmadesword.com? Are you happy with the overall look/feel/quality?

Thanks,
Jason

Thanks for the nice comments! I like it too. ;) (Although I no longer have any of the ''Smokey and the Bandit'' items. But maybe someday...)

Here are two pistols from my collection...

''Aarrgghh! Those be fine lookin' pistols, ta' be sure, matey!'' (Sorry. I couldn't resist. Eat your heart out Johnny Depp!) :p

Great collection! And beautifully displayed, as well.

Thanks very much Jason.

I have questions on three items:
1. Where did you find your miniature Ark of the Covenant?

It's the 1/6 scale ''Mail Away Exclusive'' Ark that Hasbro put out several years ago. I got it off of e-Bay for around $40 or $50 bucks if I remember correctly.

2. Where did you find your stand for your Fertility Idol?

It came with the Idol. It's the ''Sideshow Collectibles Fertility Idol''.

3. Are your Kill Bill swords from handmadesword.com? Are you happy with the overall look/feel/quality?

I bought them on e-Bay also, but after looking at the handmadesword.com website, they basically look like the same ones that I got and they're in the same price-range as well. Yes. I'm very happy with them! I had a cheaper ''Bride'' sword years ago that I ended up getting rid of because of it's poor quality. I'm extremely pleased with these.

Dude!! 0_0 you have EVERYTHING! lol

Not yet...but I'm workin' on it. ;)

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): HOME THEATER / PROP ROOM PICS

It's been a long time coming, but we've finally gotten around to renovating our attached one-car garage into a space that's going to end up becoming my eventual ''Home Theater and Prop Collection Room''! (Patent Pending). :)

Now that phase one of the process is over, we've decided to go ahead and use it as a family-room / music-room / ''place for all of my crap'' type room for the next year or two until my oldest daughter graduates from High-School and then decides what she wants to do. After she moves out, we'll turn her bedroom in to our home-studio / musical-equipment room and then finalize the transformation of the garage into a full-on home theater. (We made sure that the room had no windows or outside light of any kind so that we could install a projector and movie-screen when the time comes.)

Here are some basic ''before and after'' pictures of the empty room.
