Thanks man. I love the way your Hannibal mask turned out too, by the way. You definitely nailed it for sure. :cool

On a completely unrelated note...today my wife, two daughters and I had the rare opportunity to see two of our favorite
classic monster movies on the big-screen in glorious 35mm. The Capitol Theatre in Rome, N.Y. Rome Capitol Theatre, Rome, NY (an old movie-house that's located about 2 1/2 hours
from where we live), was playing the original 1931 black & white versions of Dracula and Frankenstein back-to-back
as a double-feature! You can't beat that for Hallow-weenie goodness, can you? :D

I agree with you - you couldn't let that double feature get away: I know I would not!
Great that you went all three

Thanks guys. I am indeed a very lucky man. Speaking of which...

Today my "too soft-hearted for her own good" wife let me have my Christmas present early. This is the first "E.T." related piece
in my collection, and I couldn't love it more. It looks incredible in person. Neca really did a nice job with these. (Thank-you Shelly!)

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" (1982)

That's great Adam! I always feel like you're my Padawan of props. I also feel somewhat bad for your wife, since I am responsible for you getting into this... Apologize to her, for me (just pretend apologize though) :) LOL!

I concur whole-heartedly, Master Kenobi...er, uh...I mean Fyfe! Make no mistake Brad. My wife places at least 73% of the blame for all of this squarely on your shoulders. :D

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991)

Adam,
That E.T. looks amazing !! What a great Christmas present !! I also have a wife who encourages and supports my "madness ".

Regards,
Gary

Great addition/present.. Been looking at grabbing one too.. I too, blame the likes of Fyfe, Rylo, Sarednab and Magnoli, for sending me broke.. :p

As I have said before:

Wives come and go, that's the plain truth of it, but props last forever.

Awesome additions to your collection.

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" (1982)

Thanks guys. I really do recommend getting one for anybody who's on the fence about it. They're very cool in person.

Okay...now somebody has got to make that into an official "RPF Christmas Card"! (FREE PAPER-PROPS section or JUNKYARD...either way would be awesome!) :lol

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): "Taxi Driver" (1976)

My first prop addition of 2014! Woo-hoo! :) I've been working on this one for quite a while now. Travis Bickle's Jacket from the 1976 Martin Scorsese classic, TAXI DRIVER. (I figured that it would look best displayed on a mannequin, so I decided to get a matching one for my SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER disco-suit as well. Two iconic '70's-era movie costumes back-to-back! How can you go wrong?!) :D To ''round-out'' my TAXI DRIVER display, I got a poster and 1:18 Scale Die-Cast Metal Checker Taxi-Cab.

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): "Taxi Driver" (1976)

Just came across this on the front page and had to comment. Could I ask you where you found your Lecter mask? I haven't been able to find a decent example except for the one made by fiberglassmasks which I now see is discontinued.

This is, hands down, my favorite collection I've seen on this site so far. The room you've set up looks rich and fantastic!

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): "Taxi Driver" (1976)

Your prop room looks real nice. Congrats on the new year's addition

That's exactly where I got it from. :) fiberglass hockey masks I sent an e-mail directly to Bob Ferden at the site just to ask about the Lecter Model specifically, and it turns out that he had a couple of masks laying around that were molded from before he had to stop selling them, (just the raw, unfinished shell), and he agreed to work on one for me. If you ask him, he might still have a couple left.

Thanks guys! (And Gary...the cab would probably seem a lot bigger if I didn't have it placed so close to the life-size mannequin, huh?) :lol The taxi is actually pretty cool looking up close. Very detailed. It'd look even better though sitting next to a custom license plate from Celebrity Machines License Plates . ;) (Hint-Hint! Come on guys. Make it happen!) :thumbsup

Ahh, good to know, thanks! I had contacted Ed Cubberly a year or two ago, but he quoted me $1,000 for a mask. Would be cool to have one from the supposedly same mould, but that's a little out of my price range.

No problem, and I agree...$1,000 bucks seems a little excessive to me too. For what it's worth though, I absolutely love the one that I got and if Bob had one left over to sell you, I don't think that you'd be disappointed at all. Good luck!
