My problem/issue with AvPr

Hey all,

I just wanted to comment on something from the AVPR movie. Iam going to assume that everyone here has seen it by now. So here goes my problem with the movie/scene.

At the beggining where she ship is in orbit of earth, the same ship that we seen at the end of AVP. With all those predators onboard, tell me this, how does ONE predalien manage to kill them all!?!?!

It kinda ginds my gears about that, I mean common a full MOTHERSHIP no less with a full complement of predators and even an elder onboard cant stop one predalien! Is it me or did the entire predator race just get slapped in the face. There must of been a few if not tons of experienced hunters onboard that could of delt with the situation in hand. But what happens the ship falls to earth and all the predators onboard are dead...what a joke.

Is anyone else kinda peod about this and what happened on the ship? I know the movie needed a starting point but common. Anyways just wanted to chuck that out there.

If I was onboard I would of WTFPWNED that predalien back into the stone age.

yeh i kinda know what u mean like as if all those predators couldnt have killed one predalien, but the first pred that gets killed is caught by suprise, then the elder who see's it shoots at it and misses which is why the ship crashes because of the blast to the ship i guess. then while the ship is down the predalien kills the injured/dying i guess.....

Ill have to rewatch it again to see if his shot actually did something but that could be possible, but you would think that the predator race would protect there systems in the event of something like this. Iam not saying the possible outcome of a predalien attack but an intruder within there ship, that they would protect all there systems in the event they start shooting there plasmacanistors all over the ship /shrug.

Its just all abit too much. And if the ship wasnt protected from their weapons, then why a fully trained,experienced elder would use his plasmacanistor around the ship, you would think he would want to get his hands messy abit. Also what about an alarm system in the ship to notify predators of a threat, they must have something like that, I just hate when they make predators seem the easy prey type when they sooo arnt. Blasted movie directors.

hahhaha ohh snap! Yah i can see it now a triangle shaped sign in red with half a predator waist up with a plasmacanistor on (solid black picture of the predator) and with a big solid red line through it..that be hilarious.

well from what I heard was that that was a smaller ship that broke away from the mother ship and that there were only 3-4 predators on that ship. If u go find all the deleated scenes they talk about that in one of them.

interesting do you have link to this stuff? I did notice that the motherships engines were green, but the one in AVPR had like batman engine flames comming out of it lol, so that could be possible. Eather way 3-4 including an elder die by a single predalien...common lol.

I had always thought the one wearing the Elder Bio was the elder, never noticed that his front wasnt cut out. Makes sense now. But still WHY shoot your plasma caster inside the ship, if you have enouph of your brotheren around just go hand to hand, or in predator sense..wrist blades to alien chest lol. Just dosnt make any logical sense what happened to them, again stupid directors.

Well at the end of AVP, the mothership is huge...it extends from one side of the camera angle to the other showing it's huge size.

In AVP2 the ship is alot smaller, and plus the fact that the predalien hung his victims up (like normal predator fashion), there's only like 3 (guessing) bodies? I'm definately going to agree that it was a smaller ship broken from the larger one.

I would like a question to respond is to why Wolf was the first to recognize the emergency signal. Why didn't the mothership turn back around and assist in erradicating this outbreak?

Honestly I noticed it was smaller, but I thought maybe that was a good old fashion fox mistake, also the engine too, like i said at the end of AVP the motherships engines were green colored, but in AVPR they were like the fancy batman flames lol which i was like huh,what,err,ok lol. Also the predalien was on the mothership, again why I had thought that the ship in AVPR was indeed the mothership but most likely did a good old "Alien" move and ran onto the exiting ship from the mothership .

Just dont agree that all the predators died too one predalien, or I should say I dont agree with them killing all the predators, just stupid, predators are good hunters and to see one shoot his plasma caster inside a ship, thats a good WTF. Just be nice if predators came out ontop or even survived.

theres a deleted scene in AVP 2 which really shouldn't have been deleted where it shows the predators taking the face huggers and i assume scars body into a smaller ship in the hanger of the mother ship

My biggest peave with both AVP 1 and 2 is:

That we never actually see a Predator survive his hunt. We saw barely a clip of one predator while the guy in the first film was reading the translation on the wall...remember the predator with the spear beating on his chest as the ship came down to pick him up? I really wanted to see more of that, the ritual of honor so to say.


If they make a 3rd film, give us something different and let a predator survive, I want to see something that hasn't been showed before.

WTF? You can't honestly hold The Strause Bros. accountable for every single detail in AVP-R that got screwed up! Most of the problems w/ it, including everything involved w/ your above statement were the inevitable end result of a poorly written script, of which, was written by Shane Salerno. Although, when you really get down to it...if you're going to start pointing fingers at who's responsible for everything wrong in AVP-R, then all you need to do is blame FOX. After all, EVERYTHING that had occurred before, during and after any actual filming of this movie took place was under the control of Fox. Every second seen on screen, happened as it did because Fox allowed it to happen and in some cases, even ordered it to happen that way. In fact, the entire beginning intro of AVP-R made no sense whatsoever because Fox specifically refused to let The Strause Bros do it the way they wanted. Fox refused to allow the directors the time & money so it could be done in way that would've actually made sense to the audience. Even in the final approved draft of the script, there was supposed to be a LOT more shown in the beginning of AVP-R which basically filled in all the details starting from the birth of the Hybrid and up to the point when the Hybrid had reached full maturity & attacked the Predators inside the smaller scout ship that separated away from the mothership near Jupiter & came back into the Earth's orbit.

Some of you who've posted/replied here in this topic are quite new to the lair, but you should know that practically every question or concern you have regarding any of the Predator films has most likely been brought up & discussed at length & in great detail within the hundreds of topics already started, especially damn near every detail involving both of the AVP films.
If you're new, you should be spending 99% of your time in here during the first month or two just reading through the many, MANY posts which already exist. There's TONS of great info to be found here in the lair regarding all those tiny little details from the films, comics, graphic novels, etc, etc.. Please don't start up a new topic every single time you have a question about something Predator related, as it's most likely been brought up & answered several hundred times in the past. Use the SEARCH function & please try to spend most of your time reading the existing topics instead of starting new ones everyday. Please do your part to help reduce the amount of unnecessary/duplicate topics.
