after a light sanding to see the imperfections...

i found a lot of little pits and low spots so i added some bondo to the hole in teh back and some of the spots that i could find, then sanded them down with a light sandpaper, i am afraid to sand through the plastic lol

and in my rush and i guess bad choice making i wanted to add a small slit to the top part where the speaker is but totally messed it up and had to re-bondo

Very nice!

Tho that is technically a "Cobra" phaser from TNG seasons 3-7, not a "Dolphin" (the Dolphin was used on Voyager and the TNG movies).

k

Was the dolphin used on Voyager? I remember seeing the cobra head and the boomerang. When was the dolphin used?

I have a couple of these, and I've been thinking about repainting them for a while. Looking forward to seeing the final product.

Any chance you have the link to that youtube video? I can't find it for the life of me.

here are some new pics, i am testing the color, i like the darker stamped metal gray... i think it will look good with the black and be nice with the lights... i am going to sand it down lightly and add a few mroe coats...

Looking fantastic. Have you considered spraying the grips with spray on black plasti-dip? Or are you planning on casting and replacing with rubber?

im not a casting replacing guy lol so i got some plasti dip yesterday... i need to re-do this paint, then add the black to the front, but then the handles...
