Thats the spirit. The small parts mounted to the Plastruct domes are from the Flakvierling, and the finned round parts inside the Plastruct shades on the rear, are from the Karl buddy.

Here is pod 223. Sorry I really haven't identified anything on these waiting on a couple kits to come in before I sit down and dig in all update these when I do. Addendum the part maps are finished

All ID's are known on this one too buddy, just shout at what your not sure of if needs be, welcome to the nuthouse :).
Your only real biggie on this is the 312b Ferrari nose cone (it makes the five big vent plates), but seeing as it got a re re, its all easy pickings.
Think we used Brabham rims on the engine bells.

I'm gonna be molding up some of these pieces in smooth-on since there are so many multiples and probably gonna buy something to get the bubbles out of the mold also. Anybody got some personal experience with smooth on and a suggestion on which worked best for you ?.

Yeah I had figured those plates were either from the 312b or the 312t someone in another thread had posted up there build unpainted which has really speed up my id's on the pods and those were bright red so right off the bat I figured the were from one of the two.

Yeah lol, i ID'd them, AFTER i cut up a Yardley :lol, not much was known back then, and we were kinda working blind......collaboration is a wonderful thing!

I totally agree with you there. Although even with help I feel like I'm still insane to take this hobby on. Just growing up I loved Star wars and seeing the ILM book made me want to do what those guys did. My end aim here is to build myself the 32" falcon but i figured baby steps.

Insane...possibly, many of us are a little nuts i think lol, but your going the right way about it, you have started with a fantastic project, which on completion paired up, great little display. Nice to see you making the attempts to ID your kits too :thumbsup

Chris, Lee is the expert on these, so you're in excellent hands. Dunno if these pics will help, but I took pics of mine before I covered them with paint:

Jason Eaton » Blog Archive » Studio Scale ESB Probe Droid Pods (before paint)

I actually did a lot of homework on this project before I even posted up here and your site has some of the best shots of that model that I had found before. I mentioned to lee in an earlier post that I knew one of of the parts he mentioned was either one of two models because of some pics I have. The pics i was referencing were from your blog so for reference it rocks. In fact I might be using some shots of your model as my part maps I hope your ok with that.

Aww part of the fun is finding the parts, course every once in awhile there is that one that's just sitting in front of you and your looking everwhere but the place you need to be looking. Also its a nice challenge like a 3d puzzle, at the very least because of all you guys out there I know which model kits to look in.

Went ahead and updated the maps a little. Maybe you guys can help me out here. I'm quite sure I know the correct part here but for some reason it just wasn't looking right to me. The part between the 8rad and the mercury vapor lamp I believe is a flak38 part but I wanted some confirmation on here. Also I'm planning on getting a nice big order of plastruct parts for my current and future builds anything that when you guys do a build up on here always seem to run out of that you would recommend getting.

Hey Lee, was it you that said you had a casting of the 232 Lotus wheel? Can I buy one? And does anyone have a spare/casting of the 232 body (I have 4). Or anyone want to trade? I have two 223 bodies and one 222 available.

Looking forward to seeing the builds Chris!

I would be interested in you 232 and 223 bodies. I was planning to cast up the bodies to make multiples but if I could get them in trade. As far as the lotus that's about the only 1/12 I don't have. Ask lee he would know one way or another. I do have the Tyrrell ford f-1, which I thought was the engine on the 232 not the lotus. Although looking at my parts map I have its listed as such. I have coming up here the Aurora Sealab III, I'm not doing any builds with it yet but I figured would come in handy to cast up and trade once it comes in anyone interested in a trade of those when I start casting ?.

Guys if you can wait till Friday, ill check donors, i know ive got six 232 hulls, and a few spare 223's, so hang in there, and ill check.
Pretty sure i don't have a Lotus rim left, sure i already helped a brother out on that one, but ill look :).
