After recieving my MR Y-Wing last week, I decided that it really needed an acrylic display case to keep it dust-free.

This case has a full mirror on the base with a clear post, similiar to the original base:

I don't plan on doing a run of these cases, but if you're interested, contact Tom at the Plastic Factory here:

The Plastic Factory is located in Gardena, CA.

He won't ship any thing, but if you're in the SoCal area it would be worth it to pick one up.

AWESOME.
Agreed that is how they "should have" done it, but it would have added another $200-300 on top of the $700-800 not to mention more adding more shipping because of the weight and it may have it out of the reach of some collectors.

I know it would have put me out of reach if it had the case and base like that, I'm sure it would have done the same to others as well.

Actually, I paid under $200 for this case.

If MR had done a run of 1,500 cases, they probably could have gotten them made for around $100 or less per unit.

Shipping might have added another $30 for UPS ground.

Any way, the new Y-Wing is good news for those collectors who have big glass cabinets to display large items. Bad news for those of us who don't have them....and we get stuck with a model of Turret. :confused

Nice case, super sharp and clean.

I hope you had him use UV plex if you're going to keep it by the window like that.... unless of course you already have UV glass in the window.
