My new Takagi blaster

Found these pictures of the Takagi and an older Tomenosuke. (the trigger guard is black in the current version) Not much difference between them save for the finish and grip color though.

I got My Takagi Blaster today. I love it. It's weight feels awesome in the hand and the quality of the finish is amazing. One question I hve to ask though, how do you get the battery compartment out? The Cylinder on mine releases easily, the tigger action is nice and the bolt works well but I can't figure out how to get the battery out..

Cheers

Michael

The two little set screws on the side release the magazine/battery compartment. Be really careful with those 2 threaded round nuts. They could easily pop off and disappear.

Mine finally arrived today!

I'm still at work right now, so I haven't had time to sit down properly with the instruction manual, but I will say that your tight cylinder issue is actually mentioned in the manual, Ruprekt. (I have the same issue too). It says that the cylinder fit had to be made tight in order for the cylinder to revolve properly for firing, and if it is really stuck, it helps to flip up the bolt handle and spin the cylinder counter-clockwise as you push it out, or also counter-clockwise as you push it in.
It also says that the cylinder shaft screw getting loose can cause the cylinder to stop coming out altogether, so be sure to check that the cylinder shaft screw isn't loose. Only problem is, I can't tell which is the cylinder shaft screw...

I'm not sure what a cylinder shaft screw Is. but the cylinder release screw Is the one that pushes on the shaft to release the cylinder. when you push the lever with your thumb. small hole right below were the firing pin Is.

Without meaning to sound pedantic, that part doesn't seem to be a screw. That plunger is a single piece incorporating the thumb slider on the outside of the gun. That's held in place with a screw, but I doubt it's what I called the "cylinder shaft screw," since the operative word is "jiku" meaning axle/shaft, and implying a central thing. Has anyone taken apart the cylinder assembly? I'm a little afraid to myself.

In any case, having taken a better look inside the cylinder housing, I can see perfectly well what the trouble is. The end of the cylinder pin (that sticks out of the cylinder toward the rear) likes to get itself caught in the groove for the cylinder revolver bar (the hand?). I've half a mind to take a file to the cylinder pin to lessen the problem... but that scares me!

This is my Takagi Blaster after I sanded down the receiver and rubbed some graphite powder in and polished it up. It looks nicely metalic in person, a little less so in the pics.

Nice! For me, the finish on the cylinder housing looks so good that I can overlook the plastic receiver.

... I ran into Takagi-san today, believe it or not! He was introduced to me by a model gun store owner who knew I'd bought the blaster. Nice guy!

Ok, I really like that the cylinder swings out, I like the rounds in the cylinder. Over all it looks real good. What I don't like is the $800 price tag, and it doesn't shoot? Just my opinion

But it does! It can make a loud bang at least. I doesn't put holes in things, but it does fire. The price was steep, agreed, but I was prepared to pay it as I've wanted this Gun since I was 13 when I first saw Blade Runner.

Speaking of which, I watched the movie again the other night and noticed for the first time that Harrsion Ford often holds the gun two handed and has fingers on both triggers

Curious how I never noticed that before.

Cheers
