I think he is reffering to the notch on the cheek (Black / dark area on the sides) There is a detail shot of it closing.

ah, cheers chris.

No i wont be adding that detail. the problem with the cgi helmets was there were loads of little differences to the real ones. things like the screws, jaw rivets and now this all changed on the cgi lids.

Im keeping my helmet true to the pysical props

whilst im waiting for the rubber to cure, i worked out the lighting for the eyes. im going to have these set into cast lenses

why do LEDs for the eyes when the real deal was EL sheet

LEDS are cheap and easy to wire up but if your going to as close to the original as possible, and it looks like you are, then you might do a version
with sheet and driver to get as close to the original as possible
